You have had 9 months to acquire this weapon. It has always been a good rifle, just came into the meta bracket due to the nerf to luna boots and rallies. Remove the quest step is a better solution. I suppose you'd want the catalyst with xur as well? As thats a staple in it to? Plan to ask bungie to include it as a world drop instead of heroic menagerie?
