I think you'll be glad to hear that we may actually get to meet and fight alongside Shin Malphur sometime since he is confirmed to be alive still. There's even a possibility of meeting Osiris and Saint-14 still

Fun fact, not confirmed but there is a chance Toland is still alive

Actually Toland is dead, but his conscious still drifts through the sword realm where he was able to observe the deaths of the rest of Eris's raid team as well as the deaths of Crota and Oryx. He even leaves messages and thoughts for us and can touch other minds (like Osiris's) through the Void Read the Hellmouth Ghost Fragments for proof
