  • Why? They are as unbiased as it comes. It's only the facts of how the game, or Hardware on this occasion, performs.

  • Not entirely, they tend to use softer wording when particular products perform below expectations. Can't blame them, they know what their audience is like.

  • Hardly. They tell it like it is. If they game runs poorly they say it runs poorly and examin why. If the game runs well they say it runs well and examin why.

  • I can already see this turning into a Mass Effect-esque situation, so I'll just leave you with a hardy "whatever you say, pal" and be on my way.

  • The article is out. It is straight forward and factual. Richard Leadbetter was blown away by the Scorpio.

  • And surprisingly, they dragged the Pro through the dirt.

  • Why surprisingly? It way outperforms the Pro. They were asked if there was a difference and they said it like it was.

Like I said before, they tend to use softer wording when discussing the negative aspects of particular products which they share predispositions towards ― checkerboarding and downsampling come to mind. Beyond that, they're known to outright botch analyses ― BF4 comes to mind.

Checkerboarding and downsampling aren't an issue. They don't look as good as native but they aren't a problem and all.

  • Unless you've made it your business to consistently berate it for four years straight until a particular system has to do it to run its game. Then all of a sudden, poof―it's now amazing technology.

  • The Xbox One hasn't been running a lot of games as good as the PS4 for the last four years. He reports things factually.

  • Though we're discussing dynamic resolution and the seemingly arbitrary― though not really arbitrary― shift in its perception over the past year. And as we can see with the Battlefield 4 breakdown, no, he doesn't always report factually.

Link this BF4 breakdown you keep talking about. Dynamic res is dynamic res. It's become a big thing because consoles can get games to "seem" like higher resolution when they are really lower. Same deal with checkerboard. As 4k becomes a bigger and bigger deal these workarounds to get as close to native 4k as possible will be more prominent for some games on some consoles.

  • So it was dice's fault he didn't get a good review in. I had to to show you that it isn't a bad thing.

Either his capture card, the fact that they changed the settings, or a combination of both. "Showed" me?
