Who said I pirate games?
-
Why else would you defend the practise?

Who said I defended the practice?
-
Did you forget your own OP? Dear me.
-
No, but nowhere in my OP did I defend pirating. I just said that used games are just as bad.
-
They arent though. Does pirating help keep retail outlets afloat? No. Are people who pirate games as likely to buy future products as those who pay for used copies? No. Does piracy completely bypass the initial sale? Yes. You are promoting a far more harmful practise as equal to one tolerated by the Industry due to the benefits it brings, thus defending it. The only time piracy is acceptable, even tolerated, is when it comes to music software. Very very few aspiring artists can afford £800+ for Cubase, then multiple VSTs at £100s each. However once someone is in a position to go pro, they have a record label wallet behind them that will stump up whatever they need, ergo in this case, and only this case, piracy actually carries a benefit. But for games, films etc? Nothing but harmful.

I don't think you understand the point of this post, buddy.
-
No, I do. Its indefensible.
-
People bash on piracy complaining it doesn't help the developer and then turn around and buy used games, which also does not support the developer

Edited by Bieltan: 3/21/2017 1:26:07 PMNot directly, but it supports retail outlets which in turn provide exposure and marketing opportunities, relies on the initial sale even having taken place, and may lead to future sales gain. Piracy does none of that and usually leads to more piracy. You're wrong. And oh look, you're bothered that people bash on piracy! Hmm... 🤔
