None of the Vex have conflicting views. There are no military divisions, just certain models programmed for different forms of construction. All Vex worship the Heart. Why did you think otherwise?

  • But it seems to me that the Vault was supposed to be an imitation of a Hive throne world, one in which Aetheon could be a God, of sorts. He had complete mastery of his domain, using the network of Oracles and the Templar to erase anything that didn't fit "the pattern," which accomplishes something very similar to the Deathsong. If this is the case, his name would make some sense, since a God will not revere another, if anything, they will see each other as equals. I personally believe that the Heart was a Vex replication of the type of Darkness blight that Oryx wielded, and that the Sol Progeny were supposed to unlock the secrets of harnessing such power directly through it, while Aetheon created the vault in such a way as to directly replicate the Deathsong. Both were attempting to become God-like in power, but started studying and creating different aspects of that power. They would have actively competed against each other for the worship of lesser units, and considered the other an Atheist. That's just how I interpret that of course. Let me know what you think.

  • If you haven't read all the books of sorrow Grimoire, you should. You're spot on.

  • This is more plausible. The Vault is definitely a replication of a Throne World. But again, a Throne World doesn't necessarily need to have a God, especially since the Vex don't obey the Hive laws.

  • Have you ever heard of a place called the Vault of Glass the head boss is Atheon, or Atheist, and he and his followers defy the Black Garden and it heart.

  • Except that isn't how the Vault works or Atheon's purpose.

  • How many times do I need to explain this... Atheons relation to the word atheist is nothing. Means nothing. Find me a place in the Grimoire where it says that Atheon was against the Black Garden. Show me. And instead, I'll show you a quote from the Grimoire that proves they were working in tandem.
Look to the Vault, Guardian, for it was said to hold powers the Progeny were meant to bring forth
Sound like they were enemies. I don't think so.

  • I will agree that they were working together, but the they were using different methods to become a law of the universe. Atheon, however did not particularly seem to believe that worshiping the Black Heart was the method to reach their goal

Well, not exactly. It was the Sol divisive who's function was to worship the heart. All the other functions just go about their duties. The vex don't believe in gods, they only follow their function.

They all worship the heart but are different correctives, as they are called. Some are different solely based on setting or aesthetics, but there are Vex correctives that operate independently or differently than base Vex.

  • Actually it was only the Sol divisive who's function was to worship the heart. The vex have multiple divisions that do very different things.
Hezen corrective, Hezen protective, Aphinx invasive and Virgo prohibition are the other known functions.
• That's what I was thinking as well. Each division has a different function but all vex have the same objective... Victory. Or was it the emperor for all outcomes, I haven't read the cards in a while.

  • Ah, so it is even more complicated than I remembered. The names of the correctives are recognizable but I can't piece it all together hah. I saw a lot of lore through certain VoG gear as well but that feels like eons ago, I've forgotten every bit amidst this Taken plague.

  • Then it will really piss you off to know we had a copy of Toland's journal in year one and we gave it to banshee in exchange for a coupon to give to Xur for the Bad Juju

  • Oh and that Activated Elders Cipher we gave Variks, it's what controls the flow of Ether through Servitors and what allowed Skolas and the Queen to declare themselves Kell

  • Thankfully there are no servitors in the vestian outpost. (This is the reason variks keeps asking for our ship or ghost.)

  • I don't know if I would use the word conflict since we've never seen hot vex on vex action, but there are multiple vex factions that seem to be working their agenda from different angles (assuming their end goal is the same anyway). The Sol Divisive are the ones getting influenced or driven by likely a non vex source (the black heart) and I've always thought of them so far as a corrupted version of the vex agenda. But who knows that could change completely.
