You can buy materials, or you can even have your ghost deliver materials straight to your inventory. There is little need to farm. If you're determined to farm though try to level up your Nightstalker to unlock the Keen Scout perk or go about getting your hands on a weapon with Relentless Tracker. These will make chests and material deposits appear on your radar, greatly accelerating the process.
