They could at least mix it up every once in awhile, i.e. heroes get wrecked. I was on the edge of my seat during that scene in AoU where they were getting swarmed. I thought to myself, "wow, am I finally witnessing a comic book movie where the heroes lose?" but no. More bullshit plot armor and ex machinas...
