Don't choose team Vampire in Dawnguard. You can get the same benefits plus more if you chose team Dawnguard.

[spoiler]When you kill Harkon, Serana becomes a permanent follower and you can use her to become a Vampire Lord as well as using the crossbows you can craft from Dawnguard side missions.[/spoiler]

Yeah, but you can't get the vampire rings and amulets. I did Dawnguard since I was a werewolf, and got the rings from the pack in Solstheim, and got all the Dawnguard loot. The rune axe is so op.
