Scopes in order of best to worst:
1. Longview SLR10 (zoom 5x - aim assist +30)
2. Shortgaze (zoom 4.5x - aim assist +15-20)
3. Ambush (zoom 4.5x - aim assist -10)
The pre-HoW Spear has low aim assist but the new one may differ (as the AR had different base stats)
Perk 1: Hidden Hand (aim assist)
Perk 2: Injection Mold (stability and aim assist)
Perk 3: Grenadier/Unflinching/Performance

In no way does ambush have the same zoom as the shortgaze, it has a shorter zoom that's the reason why I use it. Plus aim assist is a worthless clutch only a scrandal would rely on.

I used to but since I've got my Her Ben I just seem to get a lot more snap/pull kills than I did with my Spear.

You missed Hawkeye out which is a mid range scope with a similar view to the shortgaze also offering increased aim assist.

Hawkeye has 6x zoom and +20 aim assist so I think for whatever you wanted, Longview and Shortgaze would both be better options.

Hawkeye is in between shortgaze and longview. I have it on one of my her benevolence snipers. It handles the same as the shortgaze with a slightly increased zoom. It's described as a mid range scope.

The point is neither list is accurate. They are both peoples opinions based off a little bit of testing and prima games. One list states that ambush and shortgaze are the same zoom when they are not, although they are similar and the list I supplied suggests that focused fire is only on suros regime which we both know is not the case amongst other in accuracies.

You can't use inaccuracies in an outdated post as evidence that a relatively up-to-date post (1 month old) is inaccurate. The best thing to do would be try and find flaws in my post.

That's not a flaw or an error. The difference in SG and Am scopes is [b]immaterial[/b], in no way does it affect performance whereas the difference between SG/Am and LV10 does and that's likely the reason why they classed the zooms as they did. Using that to completely discredit the accuracy is absurd. It's like saying financials statements of a £bn company are not accurate because they're not accounting for £1k. That's why I said you're nit-picking. I don't care about being proven wrong and enjoy discussions, I just don't like getting into petty arguments - especially when someone is trying to defend their original basis of an incorrect statement.

The main flaw in any post about scopes is that the information is not accurate. You even state that the zoom on ambush and shortgaze is different just not enough to be stated numerically. That alone throws off any accurate comparison between the two. In the link you supplied the guy who made it states he couldn't satisfy all the different aim assist variables at play on snipers. Until bungie releases the hard data we only have opinion.

Seriously, you don't need to argue for the sake of arguing, just admit your error and move on - or test it yourself if you really care that much.

Good info, I prefer the shorter range scopes but will have to try our that Long view scope, I believe I have it on my Pre HOW roll.

It's on Praedyth's and Eye of Sol along with Ambush and Shortgaze, respectively - so you can compare. Personally the 0.5x more zoom is negligible compared to the benefit of higher aim assist

Yeah, I do not snipe a lot but have been trying to get better at it. All I usually see is use ambush or short gaze but I am going to give the SLR10 a shot. I do just fine most of the time with sniping but I seem to get out sniped at times in trials against lest skilled players so I want to improve my sniping ability.

No worries, I'm trying to raise awareness of this. IMO the 0.5x more zoom is barely noticeable whilst the added aim assist is.
