What's next. Segregating people with freckles?
"Your spots are too distracting, say goodbye to society."
English
-
Not comparable.
-
What about people who might almost possibly pass on genetic defects
-
Also not comparable.
-
It is arguably doing what is best for the human races survival by taking away the rights of others just because bad things can happen :/
-
But not vaccinating has the potential to directly negatively affect other people. Having freckles or genetic defects does not.
-
Ok what about segregating people with STI's and STD's from society this one should be fine as another example right? Cause they themselves do in fact spread diseases like those who refuse vaccinations.
-
They have to engage in a specific act to spread disease though, and they're already prohibited from commuting that act if they know they have an std. If you have a virus or something, you just need to be near people.

Edited by Yarbey: 6/10/2015 4:38:43 AMYes but not all people share the fact that they have one, or know sometimes so there is still a risk to the populace
-
Lol. Daz's topic got ninja'd.
-
Cool were the only ones left :0
-
Damn i wonder who did it...
-
Well then they're not really applicable to this analogy. If you don't know it exists, what can you do?
-
Well i also said some just don't care, and do stuff anyway. The point was there is a risk that could be prevented, or at least Reduced by tracking down std carriers and removing them from society.
-
That's true. If they're found out, they are removed from society though.
-
That's after having infected someone
-
True. The problem is that someone who didn't vaccinate wouldn't even have to try to infect someone. I'm not advocating for Daz's hypothetical, but it does bring up valid points in my opinion. Also, it's strange how conversations can continue even while a thread is ninja'd.
-
Well i think getting vaccinated is a good thing for the most part, but the idea of forcing things onto people just feels wrong. There has to be another way then locking them up, like i don't know maybe even a tax refund for getting vaccinated.
-
Meh. Required vaccinations make sense to me. There's literally no reason not to get one unless you're allergic or something. Plus, I feel like tax incentives wouldn't really convince the type of people who are anti-vaccine.
-
I don't think there is all that many "anti" vaccine people. Just a lot of lazy, and unsure people who don't know what to do, believing that it can be done later or etc. However if taxes are raised to cover the refund and now if they do it they get $250.00 back alot of them will go, and those who don't will be giving the government an extra $250.00 that can be spent on healthcare.
-
For that crowd, I totally agree that extra incentives could go a long way.
-
Freckles does not i agree but in a few decades people will probably want some list at least of people who have genetic defects.
