Pretty sure your not gettting more chances with this method man (whoo).
Your just using up both chances at once when you do it on hard, say with the exotic chest in vog, you grab it on normal then hard that's two chances for two chest openings. Yet when you do it on only hard you open it up and use both of your chances at once. So that's two chances for one chest opening.
Sorry but your not really Into something....prove me wrong.

I use to only do hard vog and normal and hard Crota. Now I do normal and hard for both. Definitely see more exotics drop using this method. Also good for collecting all of the vog gear now that it's relevant. The chest of disappointment in vog gives better rewards on normal in my opinion. I've seen more exotics drop in normal than hard. Ghally, hawk, last word, p&t, red death to name a few. At least if you do it normal first you only waste one chest opening on getting the same class item or shard.

If you find it again, please post it here. I have been looking for a double exotic drop that doesn't include the Vex or Crux for quite some time.

You are correct with regard to raid armor, raid weapons, and materials. However, you only get one exotic roll at a time even on hard. So if you do hard first then you lose out on an exotic roll. One way to see this is the complete lack of double exotic drops. There is no evidence of two exotics dropping unless one was the vex or the crux (both of which are a separate roll from the exotic weapon chance). And there are tons of records on vex + exotic so it is logical to assume that records of exotic + exotic would be recorded as well.
