"for CE gear run the abyss and the bridge on normal first then hard". This proves OP doesnt know what he is talking about since it has long been common knowledge that the gear only drops on normal (except the helmet). Gear CAN drop during a hard raid but only if you havent done normal first. Doing crota on normal is only useful if you need some of the weapons he drops.

Interesting table, guess i was wrong. Hmm but if you still need crota gear i think there is no place for you in the hard raid anyway unless you want gear with beter stat rolls. In that case i would still do hard right away and just take the lower chance since its a bonus and not a necessity

I'm not sure about this one but i honestly believe that doing hard right away gives you a double chance for an exotic (as you get both normal and hard rewards at once) or even a chance for a double Exotic drop. I have to admit that i've never seen a double Exotic drop that does not include the vex mc or the crux.

I've never seen one and can't find evidence of one. Though there is plenty of evidence of Vex + exotic so that makes it seem to me that it is not possible. Also, in that table I posted you can see that the drop rate for exotics from Crota is nearly identical on normal and hard. If you were rolling twice on hard the drop rate would be higher than on normal. I have been looking for data to this effect with regard to VoG but unfortunately very little is recorded. However, I think that given the lack of recording of double and the fact that drop rate seems to be about equal it works the same way.

Well i think i'll be running the raids on normal next week. Your explanation seems to be quite right. Thanks for posting this helpful information without calling anybody (me) scrub or nub, not many people like you on these forums

Edited by bukkakalypse now: 5/18/2015 1:08:18 AMI have killed crota too many times to count. I have never once seen a double exotic drop from a hm first run. I have however seen plenty of armor pieces drop on hm and a crux on a guy's first ever hm kill on any character.
