Most people only run hard though. His point is that by doing normal first you get more exotic chances. The reason for this is that two exotics cannot drop at the same time but you can get one on normal and then on hard.

Also most people can't be bothered to run it twice.

Whether people can be bothered to or not, it gives more exotic chances if you do normal and then hard. To be honest though it doesn't take much time since the enemies are weak and you can pass checkpoints around.

Personally, I would get bored running it again. I don't know anyone else. Then again, I only have one level 31 character. Even that's a chore to run raid twice in one week let alone people who have more than one 31+ character AND run it eight more times! (Vog x2 , Crota x2)

The way the OP is suggesting to do it, if you had 3 characters you would do this: Vault of Glass 1. Normal VoG to Exotic Chest 2. Switch Characters and open chest 2 more times 3. 1 person runs through the maze and jump puzzle 4. Gatekeepers and then someone leaves to save checkpoint 5. Atheon Normal x3 6. VoG Hard to Templar, save Templar checkpoint 7. Templar + Exotic chest x3 8. 1 person runs through the maze and jump puzzle 9. Gatekeepers and then someone leaves to save checkpoint 10. Atheon Normal x3 Crota's End 1. Normal CE to Deathsinger checkpoint (can switch before Deathsinger to open chest x3 if you want) 2. Normal Deathsinger x3 (could also do 2 here since you have to clear for checkpoint on hard) 3. Save Crota Checkpoint 4. Normal Crota x3 5. Hard CE to Crota 6. Save Crota checkpoint 7. Hard Crota x3 8. *optional for materials/raid gear* Run the abyss and bridge on your other 2 characters. It is not bad if you save checkpoints. But, if its not for you that's cool man. Just good for people to know the option is there if they want more exotic chances.
