What is wrong with you Bungie?! Oh sure you improved the accuracy of low range fusion rifles, but otherwise it's another nerf. Why no extra damage buff in PvE? Why do you keep nerfing a gun type that doesn't need nerfing and isn't being used in PvE, and barely at all in PvP?
Anyone I talk to about fusion rifles, or play with 99% of the time scoff or get disappointed when they find a fusion rifle, or have to use one for a bounty because oh yeah... THEY SUCK IN PvE AND PvP! Not to mention armor piercing rounds got removed from the perk table for HoW fusion rifles, only the old ones have them.
Bungie, I'm a beta player of Destiny and I'm saying this from experience: Stop nerfing the fusion rifle! That is the only unique gun in this game that feels futuristic, acts futuristic and is a really fun gun. Why even nerf it more when you fully well know it is hardly ever used across both PvE and PvP??? If you want to remove a gun type from the game, just remove it already, nobody uses any except Mythoclast and Breaker Bow.

Foil is still strong

Yeah idk why they keep doing that. I remember back when they were op, but they have been drastically nerfed. Hopefully the new ttk fusion will still be effective.

2 RepliesI agree with this. You rarely see a Fusion Rifle in PVP as is. They were nerfed enough, already!

Something new for Bungie https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/140451908

2 RepliesDo the changes apply to the bow and Mythoclast too?
-
10 RepliesI can still one shot cross map people in trials with pratorian foil, it is capable of dealing over 70 damager per pellet with both perks proc, if just reactive reload procs it deals 67 dmg per pellet with a full mag, that means if all pellets hit with that much power, it is over 450 damage where most guardians have around 200 health. Without the perks active it never deals under 50 dmg per pellets so yeah, they do need a slight nerf still (Coming from a hardcore fusion rifle user, it's my top used weapon lol)

Bump for an answer

Maybe That By Long Range , High Impact They Mean Weapons Like The Queen Breakers Bow, Of Which There May Be More Like In The Taken King This Is A Patch To Prepare For The Taken King And We Know Very Little Of Said Expansion And By Short Range They Mean Most Fusion Rifles That Are...Ummm.... Not Queen Breakers Bow Yess That's It Yess Good

1 ReplyIt's a good thing to remember that buffs and nerfs affect the entire sandbox. So while fusion rifles got a slight nerf, and I do mean slight, they also got a lot of indirect buffs. This is ignoring kill times in PvP and PvE, that's irrelevant and frankly another subject.
-
Cause Bungie loves throwing good stuff in the garbage and then grabbing the existing garbage stuff and burning it.
-
1 ReplyI agree, why nerf? They did recieve one buff though and shotguns will be less viable now so it could still work in their favour
-
I agree. Most everything else makes sense, as they're nerfing overused things and buffing auto rifles (I think, but that might turn out to not be true). But I almost never see fusion rifles. I love the idea, but I don't use them because of their lack of place in the meta. What's this crap about high impact low charge rate fusion rifles getting a range nerf? You cannot fire a fusion rifle before someone else shotguns you if you're in close quarters. The range difference between shotguns and fusion rifles is the one thing that keeps them alive. Of course, the range deduction could be really small, but the article didn't put it that way. If anything, fusion rifles need a slight buff. There needs to be an increase in range, perhaps a bit more accuracy but not much, and the ability to deal precision damage. That I think is what kills it in PVE especially. Just my 2 cents.
-
I totally agree. They are already completely useless. Too slow for most short-range combat, and the range is pathetic to say the least. I'm primarily a PvE player and I've got to say, I've used one like twice, and then only because I needed to take out a shield that I didn't have another weapon to use on. Can you fix things that are actually broken next time?
-
Bump, I 100% agree. I have a thread here (https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/139341149/0/0) with the same sentiment and there is actually a way to where they could restrict FR range without nerfing them to the ground (since FRs have no damage dropoff so they do this wonky shit to restrict their range). They can do this by taking the mechanic from the Interceptor rockets where the rockets auto-explode if they fly too far, and apply it to FR bolts but without explosions, just make the bolts fizzle out after a certain distance. It would restrict range to prevent being sniped by high-impact FRs but would allow the accuracy and projectile speed to be restored so that they are usable.

Not only that but I feel like Pocket Infinity is going to be hit by this nerf as well. "Slow charging, high Impact Fusion Rifles have decreased Range values" I mean, it's not like this gun is already pretty garbage due to the nerf for it. :|
-
2 RepliesNobody uses fusions rifles. Bungie nerfs them. Nobody complains about black hammer. Bungie breaks the weapon. I don't understand their logic behind some of these balance notes.
-
-
Agreed 100%. Is Bungie deliberately trying to make fusion rifles into a joke?
-
They're the auto rifles of specials
-
It was very strange… I totally agree they need a big buff! At least in PvE so I have a reason to use them over a shotgun or sniper!
-
I don't believe they understand that no one uses them in the current meta.
-
1 ReplyWhat's even worse is the Vex took yet another nerf. It's almost unusable now as you can't hit anything past 20ft. When this patch goes through it won't be usable at all. Fûck this game. Fûck this company. I told myself I would never buy another Bungle game after how bad Halo 3 was made noob friendly. Guess I should've listened to myself.
-
Pocket infinity was my favorite gun in the whole game. So much so that I made three of them. Now....no real point of keeping them. I had hoped they would fix the fusion rifles, but now I see that's just not going to happen. SMH.

3 RepliesYeah Fusion Rifles used to be amazing in Nightfalls but after the nerfs (because of overuse in PvP) I switched to snipers but just ended up quitting when I realized they (Bungie) were focused on selling TTK not improving their current game.
