Does anybody hate it when a women tries to refuse when you've offered to pay the bill? I don't want to argue with you for 2 minutes about who should pay the bill. Just let me do it in peace.

I just pay the bill. If there is protest, I am gracious about it, but I still pay.

That's the point where I ask, only one time, "are you sure?" If they say yes, then i'll let them pay it. I'm not going to object to someone insisting on paying a bill if they're sure they want to do it.

Maybe it's too old fashioned but if I don't pay the bill, I can't help but feel bad about it. Even if she insists its fine.

Maybe she doesn't want to feel like she owes you anything, both that night or future dates. Or maybe she liked you and she wanted to show it with a sign of respect by paying.
