You know what I find crazy? All the gatekeepers here on the forums saying “iTs A pArTiCiPaTiOn TrOpHy” will still play trials if bungie makes this a permanent thing. I mean this weeks numbers were higher than previous weeks so obviously making adept loot farmable on a confidence card like this is healthy for the game mode

If it became permanent then all the sweats and farmers would just gatekeep at 7+ wins (outside the flawless pool ALL weekend), good luck getting any wins at all during non-freelance weeks.

If the logic is to make the best loot available outside of the hardest activity, put adept Pali, Shadow Price, S.W.A.R.M., etc in the normal strike playlist. Stupidity

Nope. They broke it. Now every Blueberry that got lucky seven times has one of the best SMG’s in the game without having to put in the work to actually earn it. But yes. Lets just give everyone the best loot that people work hard to earn. That’s fair.

No. If you want adept loot, go flawless. Otherwise Adept loot doesn’t have any thing special if just any random idiot can get adept loot. It takes the value out of it and just no. If you want the best stuff, work for it.

Crazy how loot makes players play activities in a LOOTER shooter. Bungie is still unaware of that fact it seems. Being stingy with loot is their way to go. But hey, their tartgeted audience, streamers, play no matter what so Bungie is satisfied :)

We've been saying it for a long time now. PEOPLE PLAY TRIALS FOR LOOT. Look what happens when you can actually farm loot in Trials. People play. Bungie has all the data. They know full well people play for loot. Igneous Hammer is released, numbers skyrocket. Reeds Regret comes in with Trials matchmaking, record breaking numbers. Shayura's Wrath farm this past weekend, numbers go up. They need to keep some form of this farm, and they need to add more than 1 weapon per season. Crucible/Trials needs incentive (loot) for people to play them. Only die hards will play Trials for "fun". More loot and more consistent ways of farming the loot is what Bungie needs to focus on.

I think if you've been Flawless in a given season, wins at 7 should have a chance to drop Adepts, Flawless or not. Or any wins in Flawless Pool for a weekend. Because Flawless is still the only way to get the Adept mods (and the best mod for PvP in Adept Icarus is locked behind here), Mementos, and more efficient grinding for Adepts are still going to incentivize Flawless, without removing the ability for fringe players to get things. I don't see it as much different than waiting for an easy GM for farming GM rewards/whatever Adept.

That's a great idea, endgame loot being handed out as participation rewards. Next they should make a bounty where you can get the trials ship and sparrow for completing bounties, and turn the lighthouse into a social space! Ooooo, and while there at it, let's make it so everyone gets only God rolls and we all hold hands and sing together. O wait, I thought we were doing a thing where we posted dumb ideas to see who would agree and try to validate my reason for playing a specific game mode where I had to do as little work possible to get good rewards.

Eh, at most I'd just have the chance to drop an Adept weapon after a win if you're currently in the Flawless Pool for that weekend. Currently, if you're only just good enough to get Flawless once per week, there isn't much reason to play after that ticket, unless you're looking to drop 250 shards per Adept I don't really care that people got a bunch of Adepts this weekend, like enjoy your loot, but it isn't exactly in line with the intent to just give them out for nothing imo

You realize that you needed to have gone flawless this season to get the required card to keep farming. This weekend offered up free adept loot for high tier players without having to go into the flawless pool. That’s also why a lot of the matches on Sunday and Monday had very high skill players in it. Bungie didn’t fix trails, they practically removed the flawless pool for the weekend on top of baiting low-skill players in with freelance. Total matches played isn’t a good metric for stuff like this.

Everyone is talking about easy Adept SMGs, but I didn't see a single person mention the God-roll Messenger that Saint was selling last week. That was the [i]real[/i] draw to play Trials, for me.

My question is why does it have to be adept? Would you have not played if it was just normal shayuras dropping like that? I would be OK with normal weapons dropping like that allowing good farming but what is the reward for going flawless if that's the case? Ideally I think each weekend a NORMAL weapon should drop like shayuras did. Then if you go flawless it's changed into adept ones dropping instead of normals for the weekend. This way you have a reason to keep playing if you can't go flawless but also have incentive to go flawless and keep playing afterwards even if you get a loss. Right now it's typically just people that don't bother cuz they get nothing or people go flawless once then quit. Leaving only the sweats playing all weekend getting loot.
