So What They Cut Content
Worst case scenario this is true and the expansion packs unlock the rest of the already created content. At the end of the day the question is if they had put that in the initial game would you pay a release price of $90. I have logged over 2 days of gameplay in Destiny. I just completed the raid and still have lots to do to level up more. Not to mention the added values of PvP. IMO This game with that content added is well worth the price of $90. Which is why I bought the digital guardian package. It's a business. It's set up to make money. Businesses don't care about the consumer. Only our dollars. Get over it

Sounds like most of you need to find better jobs. You're doing the absolute most over less than $100. If it's that much of a financial strain to complain and complain about it, you should be focusing on a better career. Not playing video games.

also guys you know that there will at least be Mercury/Jupiter/Saturn added as playable planets. Now will that be DLC idk. Probably. Go look at the grimoire cards. Theses places are already in there. NOT TO MENTION we still have another subclass to level up that hasn't even been revealed

He admitted as much in an investor's meeting back in 2009 when he said that, if it were up to him, he'd severely raise prices of retail games. Since he can't do that unilaterally, they're using loopholes, cutting content, locking content already on disk, and then "selling it" as DLC so you have to pay $90-$100 for the base content. And people like you buy it hook, line, and sinker. Bobby Kotick is the gaming industry's PT Barnum. Look up Barnum's line about suckers and minutes.

It's intelligent design for an on-going game to have dlc being worked before release... it is also intelligent design to incorporate anything that will hold a place for or catalyze the dlc... It's on the disc to boost the introduction of the dlc's... that's not wrong... it's efficient...

2 RepliesI have logged 100 hours for 60$. I can't drive to the park and spend that much time in 3 weeks for cheaper considering gas. I go play one round of golf. 4.5 to 5 hours cost me 100$. I don't get what everyone is so upset about. I agree with original post. If you are that concerned bout 60$ find a new job and quit playing video games.

5 RepliesWhat I find utterly mind blowing is that any of you idiots that are pissed about this DLC info being on the disc is something new. As if Bungie is the first game company to ever do this. Every single one of you cry baby moron own games that have done this before. Game companies don't spend years upon years making games and then bang out DLC in a few months. Most of that shit is all done and ready to go at launch. Now that a glitch, some asshole and YouTube has brought this truth to the foreground you simpletons are losing your -blam!-ing minds. Here's an idea then. All of you, for the rest of time, whenever a game comes out. If there is even an idea that there will be DLC, DONT BUY THE GAME. Chances are the DLC is already made, on the disc and this same thing is happening again and unless some asshole, a glitch and youtube posts it again you won't know. I mean you'll know, you should have always known because unless you were a complete and total idiot you would have known lots of games were pretty much being shipped this way for the last few years now. If you're not happy with Destiny, don't buy the DLC, sell the game, get the -blam!- off the forums and find something else to play.

The epic storyline that we've seen in trailers and ViDocs has been scrapped and repurposed into a completely different story. The content that was cut will only provide more redundant [i]Defend Dinklage[/i] missions and pointless Strikes. There won't really be any progression through the current "storyline."

i think its more the fact that people are getting bored and for good reason, as is the game is... well, boring, all very repetitive missions and crappy story that no one really cares about due to its major lacking in -ironically- a story. and now that word has reached us about there being content cut and they are making us pay extra if we want what we should already have... all of these reasons are contributing to everyone being so mad

Regardless of flaws and hype not being met I have gotten my monies worth in enjoyment. Cant say the same about all games ive bought. For gods sake if $100 will make or break you please stop gaming and do something to improve your status in life. I mean honestly spend that hour a day and learn a 2nd language. Statistically if you know a 2nd language you will earn 4% more anually than peers of you equivilent education/certification level. ***added bonus*** If you decide to do that i can quit hearing you whine over 40 bucks of dlc. 1 ReplyI don't flaw your reasoning but disagree for another reason - principle and the future of gaming. If they would have packaged the entire game and said up front that this is a new step in gaming that's huge and took us forever to create so it will cost $90, $100, or $120 then I would have gladly slapped my Visa down and ran home to play. But they didn't. They promised one thing then gave us an incomplete product, intentionally cutting the core story. Even if they cut parts but just left in the hole story then I would have been good. But the way they chose to do it means core parts of part 1 are gone. When I get the pieces in 3 months it won't progress the story, it will give me chapter 2-4 of a 15 chapter book. It's just another step in games being released that are incomplete, don't work, or are designed ONLY to generated future transactions. Imagine if StR Wars Ep IV was missing tatoine, and Obi Wan. We just get Luke in space with no reason for caring about his exploits. Then 6 months after the movie they tell us to come back for an extra $4 to get the secret missing parts. It's what they've done here. Again, if I had an option to get the standard version, or the full, unlocked version for even twice the money, I would be fine. But as a capitalistic, entrepreneur I can say how they're releasing this is just...shady.

Boggles my mind that there are still several in here debating whether or not content was gutted from the game or not. There's enough proof out there to KNOW, at this point, that content was removed from the game. Stop being naive and ignorant. There's nothing wrong with being absolutlely in love with Destiny right now. But that doesn't mean you can't have a critical eye on the aspects where the game didn't deliver - like it's story. "So what if the content was slashed"? Refer to the sandwich analogy - it's perfect

Waiting for it to come out your starting part two. And in games. Expan. And dlc. Is commonly stored deep under a map. Out of "reach" of the players. However. It's there. Preloaded. Or at least the heavy bits. Enemies and triggers are all basically text so that can be aroun 5 mb for a map. Now a boss A once off boss. Needs textures and mapping 5 more mb or so. The whole lv. And all the scenery. 1-3 gb. So. If they put that on disc. Your not downloading dlc for 3 hours. So to all the crybabies Shut up and thank bungie.

It quite clearly should have been included in the $60 launch. not even IGN gave the game a high rating, that alone speaks volumes.
