IB vs Raid armor dilemma.
Okay people what the hell is wrong with you all. Trying to segregate players base on which method they decided to get their armor. Are you SERIOUS ? This is what makes the destiny community go to shit.
IB armor IMO is more painful to get. Going through 4 ranks. Dealing with 75% of players using the SAMS exact gun. (Suros) (inb4 n00b you just want it nerfed (no I don't)). Dealing with insane lag. Spawn points basically guaranteeing a win/lose. Snipers camping two control points the whole match (shores of time).
Sure RNG screws A LOT of people in the raid. Even after making 3 characters and even going as far as creating all the same class, deleting a character, remaking, and running the raid more than 3 times a week.
I feel for the raiders. It sucks. Don't get me wrong. But do NOT bash someone else because they used a different method to only get two pieces of armor.
But the MOST important thing in this whole post: in like two weeks, IB armor ANDDDD raid armor are both going to be replaced by other legendary armor that gets you to level 30. Are you going to bash THEM TOO for getting a different type of level 30 armor ? You guys make me sick. Grow up.
Edit 1: so Bungie decides to add something to make it a little easier for people to hit level 30 and raiders complain. But yet raiders want more level 30's to do the hard mode. Do you actually realize how stupid you make yourselves look ?
Edit 2: you complain about raid armor having the same perks, Bungie makes IB armor level 30 which has different perks than the raid gear's ?! I mean come on.

I've been stuck at 29 on all three characters for weeks. Kept getting energy and guns that I already have... I have everything but boots for the Warlock, and 2x chests for Hunter and titan with no other raid armor. I decided to get boots for the Warlock, and boots and gloves for the Hunter (don't think that I have time with the titan) in iron banner. At least I will get my 30, so that I am not excluded from hard raids with my brother who is a 30 on his titan. He is 29 with his other chars, but even then, the people who he plays with, he has to use his 30, so he doesn't get the rewards. At least if you are 30 with IB gear, you can participate and possibly get the raid gear. Even then, you may want to use the IB gear for other things, especially if you want faster scout/auto reload... Raid gear is better for some things, but IB gear can be better for others.

2 RepliesI'll be blunt. 30 is 30. I've seen and played with 30's who are worse than lvl25s I've seen and I've seen 30s who could basically care a team through the whole raid by themselves. The only thing I see with the raid or Banner gear is what perks fit their playing style. My buddy is prone to using scouted riffles and rarely uses heavy, whereas I love rockets so extra heavy the raid gear can provide is a nice bonus for my style. The bantering about real or fake 30 is just people upset that they did all that grinding. You know what, props for the full raid set. Props to those who touched through the banner. I have banner gear and full raid set, I just like to mix and match to best suit my load outs. It's a game that's every going to be changing, and personally I really enjoy this game. I honestly just care for teamwork and having fun through all the modes. I like the PvE option as well as the PvP option. It's still a work in progress over all but it has open potential.

Finally someone said it. Lvl 30 is lvl 30 no matter what armor you're using to get there.

1 ReplyI'd go for warlock gauntlets as well because of faster reload speed for scout rifles but there's not enough time to get to 4 again. I'm loving those gauntlets.

1 ReplyI have tried for over a month to get raid gauntlets for my l29 Hunter to no avail. The iron banner has (well, will tonight) rectify this! At least people can mix and match now so not every raid character has the same gear (and all wearing Chatter White)

1 ReplyI've done the raid 3 times (never on hard) and got boots, gauntlets, chest piece, VoC and the Epilogue. I got an exotic helm so I can be level 30 as soon as I get shards. And people are bitching about IB armor. Now that doesn't make sense. I got to rank 3 just so I could get the boots because I thought they looked better. 30 is 30.

1 ReplyIn a lot of games you often get two types of gamers, ones that play the story more and ones that play multiplayer more, I think its only fair they give the chance for both types of players to have the equal possibility to get to the highest rank, totally understand that a lot of people enjoy playing both though but a lot of players also prefer to play one or the other

6 RepliesI think people need the bitching. First it was all the "nerf-this" bitching, but since those threads aren't around anymore, they need different fuel for their frustrations. There is no difference between both armors, both are nothing but Light+30 armor. One you can get from PvE, one from PvP.

1 ReplyI didn't know people were still whining about this. I think IB gear getting people to 30 is perfectly acceptable. It's not like they released IB alongside the raid which would give IB players to 30 well before raid players. And also people simply don't want to run the raid. So why can't they be 30? Also there is an obvious visual difference in the gear so you know who did the raid and who did IB. And IB doesn't even give you the helmet. So you literally need an exotic helmet or a raid helmet to get to 30. So you're still kind of pigeon holed in having to run the raid. Iron Banner this time around has been a great idea with most of the issues fixed. Despite some lag and an annoying auto rifle bounty lol.

1 ReplyArmor is armor. I took longest out of my friends to get armor required to be a 30. I have more raid completions than them and typically do better in the raid than them. I beat my face off of the wall enduring the Iron banner to get to level 3 for my hunter and level 4 for my warlock so both could be 30. You have to deal with wayy more shit during pvp than during a raid. Raid is RNG and Iron banner you actually make progress toward.

I got hawk moon and 2 x timur's lash so I have been frustrated and pissed off at times but over all I have had a good time of it. It is persistence in the end that pays out... U notice who works as a fire team and does it random though. Teams are so very effective it is awesome. Also, a very very good player carries a team and I have quite a few of those to thank for my iron banner rating. As well as a heap of losses. Anyway I will keep showing up as despite my average weapons I keep trying.
