I never play 6s unless it's ib or the weekly so I haven't really tried it there but in 3s it can zone really well around corners. I like to drop it behind me when I'm dipping out of an engagement.

If you throw it on flat ground it spreads out perpendicular to the direction you threw it. So if you throw it in front of a corner for example it would spread out in the direction around the corner blocking the path. You are probably throwing at a wall and then it spreads out randomly when it falls to the ground.
