For all you who dislike the so called "Wombo Combo" ask yourself this, was it really so bad? The nightstalker class was an amazing addition for the Hunter, especially since they lacked what is needed for a so called "PvE class" back in year one. All is good in this subclass but one thing, the grenades! The only somewhat effective grenade is the vortex grenade, and without lockdown it's almost completely useless. Using the smoke grenade (while sacrificing invisibility for poison) with the vortex grenade made an excellent and effective grenade for a subclass without one.
But at what cost? You have to use both your grenade charge and melee charge, along with a slot that can give your allies bonus armour and recovery, or drop more orbs. To me this seemed like a balanced combo since alone these two grenades were almost completely useless. Especially in a world where both other classes have a grenade that can either one hit you, or cause some serious damage.
Edit: I have no issues with Walocks and their firebolt. For a hunter I am also pro warlock, just though I should clear that up since so many ppl assume I complain about that.

people hate wombo combo because they're dumb enough to get stuck in it time and time again. it's not that hard to get out of the way, you can almost always see it coming. TWO throwing animations? RUN, JUMP, JUST MOVE. if you get stuck in it, tough. that's the whole point. you use your melee AND grenade charge to get one or two kills, and that's IF they just stand in it

6 回复"You have to use both your melee charge and grenade charge" A similar argument was used for Transcendence, that you need both your melee and grenade for it to work. >You still complained >It got nerfed A similar argument was used for Firebolts, that you need to use three subclass perks to get the burn Firebolts that everyone yells about >You still complain >Thankfully not nerfed Thing is, the Wombo Combo is worse than Firebolts because you can't run and hide to regen health and it kills you almosy instantly.

I feel like the only reason the Wombo Combo and Firebolt nades became prominent was because of how much more effective there are in 3v3 matches, especially Trials. Teams usually stick together and try to control a specific area (which is usually not that big) so a well placed grenade could wipe out the whole team. In 6v6 playlists you hardly ever see anyone dominating a match with the wombo combo or being a self rez warlock. Bottom line if this problem only exists in 1 type of game mode and not the Sandbox, maybe the problem is with the game mode.

Maybe because "who thought giving Hunters two roaming subclasses was a good idea?" and yet as soon as Titans are able to tank a headshot from a sniper rifle, it's considered OP...on that thought, why does Shadowshot - the supposed "support" super of Hunters - get the opportunity for 3 kills (Quiver) *and* kill on impact? Chances are that none of what I said has any place in this thread whatsoever, but I'm just fed up with Titans (which have the only 'true' support subclass in the game, since you can only get Support points with Defender Titans in Crucible) having the option of a blatantly-misdescribed "indestructible/impenetrable" shield, a glass-cannon (nerfed within 3 months of release), and a panic-grade super...whereas Warlocks have a choice of increased ability damage + reduced cool down rate, a space nuke, and a Sith Lord-esque super. Regarding my point of sniper headshot tanking, can I just point out that Stormcallers take two hammers to kill, whereas a fellow Sunbreaker (mid-super) takes just one?

I guess I'm just generally frustrated at how long it takes Bungie devs to put/bring Titans down compared to the other two classes in the game.

************** *ahem* on-topic now, I guess it's just the duration of the smoke coupled with how much damage Envenomed actually does, as well as how much you get slowed by it..Lockdown may be just a little too good...y'know, like Sunbreakers' Damage Resistance prior to the December update. P.S. I'm a Titan who prefers good old-fashioned fisticuffs to a CT-D (especially the Vanguard Strike questline reward - seriously, which numpty thought Rangefinder and Rifled Barrel was a good idea on any shotgun?!)

4 回复My argument to all the wombo comb/firebolt haters is that i run tripmines religiously and get at least 4-5 kills per game with them, if my tripmine instakills you how is that any less op than wombo or firebolt yet no body ever complains about tripmines.

2 回复由A 2017 Snek编辑: 4/30/2016 12:56:38 PMIt wouldn't be that bad if the range of the -blam!-ing smoke wasn't a mile and a half outside of where it -blam!-ing hit the ground. Edit: Oh wait, your opinion is completely invalid. Anybody with three hunters can't say shit about the wombo combo or whatever the hell it's called.

32 回复由Renots66编辑: 4/30/2016 12:35:35 PMI'm sure you complained about firebolt as well. Same concept just change the txt. Only dif is wombo combo kills firebolt doesn't. You say you sacrifice invis? Well we sacrifice double nades. You say it takes 2 nodes to use? Guess what so does the firebolt viking funeral combo. Nightstalker super is alot easier to use tho. Sunsinger is not. Edit:I'm not saying the warlock doesn't have an op melee that shit wrecks but this is a wombo combo thread. And the fact that op is the biggest huntard around. Has 3 hunters.
