Kanis is a name I've used for other things in the past. It's a nod to kanis major, the dog star. And all the mythology associated with that constellation. But I decided to twist it into something more recognizable. So I chose Kain as its the same word just simpler, as well as being a nod to the the story of Kain & Abel. Chief came as a suggestion from my buddy to remind us of our halo days.
