Great Piece of Advice Here Bungie/Destiny

I totally agree with all that he said on the video. Please Bungie/Destiny take into consideration.

  • I think this could easily be balanced with a good match making system. I'm not sure how well their match making system is now, but if they checked each character based on past k/d and their current gear, they could easily match people with similar weapons and avoid having to change the gear.

  • I think comparing destiny to defiance is dumb. Im guessing the weapons in defiance don't really scale with leveling, or the sole thing that makes weapons in defiance better is the amount of damage that it can do. Weapons in destiny are much different. Exotics are exotics because of the abilities they give. Invisible while zoomed in, increase health regeneration speed, being able to pick up ammo by shooting it, deploying entries at the site of explosion. All primary weapons will have similar kill times, snipers will similar, etc. It won't be like this common sniper won't kill in 2 hits. The differences will be miniscule, or leveling up a common will make those differences miniscule. A common rocket launcher will still kill an enemy in one hit, a more rare rocket launcher might have a bigger area of splash damage, or a bigger clip or something along those lines. That is my guess. So yes, someone with a exotic will be more (for lack of better words) powerful, but someone with a common weapon will still be able to win encounters.

      • He's right; but I don't think that exotic guns in Destiny should be necessarily better or OP, but have some special attribute to them that makes them different from other guns, not better (but still make it worth finding )

      • I'm thinking that there won't be a huge difference between the best weapon in the game vs the worst weapon in the game, in terms of strict DPS. Bungie has already said that kill times in Destiny are much shorter than Halo. You wouldn't be able to say that unless a) your encounters are scaled based on your weapon's potential, or b) there isn't a wide range. I'm thinking the difference between the weapons will be 1 or 2 shots to kill for slower firing weapons, 3 or 4 shots to kill for mid range weapons, and maybe 5 or 6 for your fastest weapons. The incentive to go back out into the world for better loot is not in your damage dealing potential, but in the other behaviors of the weapons. (Closing time cloaks the user while ADS)

          Now don't take this the wrong way, but I grow increasingly tired of hearing other people's "helpful" opinions and insight on a game they have yet to lay their hands on. While I don't blindly trust Bungie, I do have faith that, with all the resources and experience they have at their disposal, they can make wise design decisions. Even if, on the surface, I don't initially understand their choices. This comes from a decade of personal experiences in an Ad Agency. Where on a daily basis I get second-guessed by clients on [i]my[/i] design decisions. Many times at the cost of the final product.

          It's one of the main reasons I feel that games like Destiny and Halo should really look at Turn 10 and how Forza was set up for competition. The video makes a good point on nerfing weapons and the real complaining and bemoaning Bungie is going to get between the competitive hardliners and PVE explores. I like Forza. You strip your car down to match up with the level of the race. So if Im a RT car I need to drop down to a F to race with other Fs. If I find a Legendary weapons then I should be going only into Legendary MP or make the choice for a lower grade weapon to match up with the other players running around with the same gear rating. Bungie sounds like they know what they are doing but competitive MP is always like that know it all great grandmother bitching about how you drive. It's too fast, it's too slow, it's never good enough.

          • can I complain about 36 missile chasing me in Ace Combat 6? no, can I evade it? there's a chance about 1/thousands, will I take the chance? hell yea!! don't protest it first, let's we see how it work in beta, ok? if you can overcome it, even with the slightest chance, then you don't need to protest it
