Those things are beyond broken. It's like 95% damage reduction, and an automatic win in a duel. Literally tanks Sleeper Simulant, Gjallarhorn, etc..
So, what's the deal? When is Bungie going to do something about this horribly balanced weapon?
edit: I literally just tanked and KO'd a stormtrance that was attacking me the whole time. These glaives are so stupid lmao.

These glaives are so stupid lmao.[/quote] How is this all that different to Shotgun-meleeing them faster than they can kill you, or sniping them before they're even in range to hit you? It's not like Glaives are the only special weapons that can win against a Super. Part of why they seem so strong is that everyone who uses HC + Shotgun and spends all game sprinting at people until they're within 15m (i.e. many, many players) is playing right into the hands of a Glaive user. Sure, the damage resistance might see a reduction so it's less effective against heavy and Supers, but it should still crush Shotgun-aping.

You can't tank a super using a Glaive. Counter Glaives by playing outside of their effective range and by shortening engagement time.

When people use them more. Bungie doesn’t nerf on potency but usage. Malfeasance, Divinity, Ticcu’s, Shoulder Charge, most aggressive frame shotguns. Think outside the box. Find the counters.

The shield shouldn’t be able to block melee attacks, otherwise I think they’re fine. Bungie doesn’t care man, unless you have a platform to speak from they’re never going to even see this

由michael編輯: 10/1/2022 1:23:46 PMI finally got around to crafting the enigma this week with all the pvp perks and it feels like cheating, cant lose a rumble game with it on, so hilarious seeing legitimately good players trying to kill me with a primary or shotgun + melee and good movement and i just stand there staring at them and then shoot them for 170. People will say "better than hand cannons and shotguns!!!!" but i guarantee you these people would rather play against those than glaives, arbalests, lorentz, and smgs. At least the old meta had reasonable counters

Anyway you can't tank stormtrance with a glaive unless something weird happened or they just suck trust me I've tried. No offence but you are just overreacting and don't really understand. Some counters are a shotgun and a melee or stasis even. Try to get creative even with a grenade and movement, while guarding your movement speed is a crawl as soon as you take damage run away the glaive has a slow fire rate. Go to teammates or super do anything just don't stand still and expect to win. Glaives also have some really annoying bugs such as some times the shot registers but doesn't deal any damage so you don't get any shield energy and then the next shot just instantly kills. Seriously the consistency of this weapon sucks its either strong as hell or just sucks no middle ground at all. Edit: You can totally tank a Gjallarhorn though.

Sadly while it’s all true Bungie wants to casualize this game, maybe for a future pvp game who knows, but it’s ultimately to increase player base. So they want their precious glaive to be very strong for those pesky shotguns which are literal butt now but fusions still map so that’s just Bungie logic unfortunately

I think they're tough to balance. They're very unforgiving, but if you can land that first hit you're golden. Hard to say they need nerfed though since with other special weapons you OHK with the first hit. Imagine if they got rid of the shield but were now a OHK like the other special weapons? Think that would be better. I'm a big fan of the higher skill level of glaives.

Its 75%. And its easy to counter. 2 melee's because melee goes through the shield. Or witherhoard. Or div. Or stay at mid-long range. And you can shoot rockets next to them.

The glaive crutchers didn’t like this one. All that needs to be done is to change glaives to not be able to fire while blocking. So the damage resistance can stay, but can’t be 100% free.

In skilled player's hands they are op, but for everyone else they are sub par. Just try using it. You'll see how hard that is.

Glaves just need to be made to make a choice. Fire, or block. Not both at the same time. But right now the most pressing issue is hit registration is far far off. Im tired of not breaking shields on screen just to see the after action report that I did 300+ damage to one player. The servers and game aren't on the same page right now this season

I like Glaives, they’re niche and unique. However, they will get nerfed at some point and they will warrant it. It’s one of those weapons that won’t see massive usage but when used correctly they break combat. I think just reduce the damage resistance of the shield or increase the energy drain when being shot at (only in PvP)
