I feel like I should clear some things up for example your damage resistance while blocking is 75% not 95% still to high why they buffed it is beyond me. Anyway you can't tank stormtrance with a glaive unless something weird happened or they just suck trust me I've tried. No offence but you are just overreacting and don't really understand. Some counters are a shotgun and a melee or stasis even. Try to get creative even with a grenade and movement, while guarding your movement speed is a crawl as soon as you take damage run away the glaive has a slow fire rate. Go to teammates or super do anything just don't stand still and expect to win. Glaives also have some really annoying bugs such as some times the shot registers but doesn't deal any damage so you don't get any shield energy and then the next shot just instantly kills. Seriously the consistency of this weapon sucks its either strong as hell or just sucks no middle ground at all.
Edit: You can totally tank a Gjallarhorn though.

Yeah, whatever the DR is, it's definitely too high. I'm not overreacting. You will never be able to justify a weapon mechanic that has the amount of iWin built into it that glaives have. I've used them to great effect, I've been beaten by them at times. Bugs that exist with the weapon do not detract from it being too strong. The fact that a gjally shot isn't enough for a OHKO is all the evidence you need. The weapon is too strong, period.

Dude with the amount of cheese in destiny now glaives are pretty balanced in the current meta despite in terms of a weapon on its own it may or may not be. As far as bugs go unless it is fixed or changed it is effectively part of the weapon and 100% effects how strong a weapon is.

There is no reasonable way to defend 75% damage resistance on top of being immune to crit damage.

Bro I've already said that check my initial comment but incase you don't I'll repeat why they buffed the damage resist I don't understand no one as far as I know even gave feed back on the shield in pvp or pve. In the current sandbox they perform in their intended role well they have their downsides and strengths they also have effective counters to them at least try don't just stare at them like a deer in the headlights.

Any defense for it it’s idiotic. They never buffed the damage resistance btw. Literally unchanged since launch.

由DRNekro編輯: 10/2/2022 6:40:04 PMYeah my bad found the twab saying they increased something against bosses by 25% and underneath stating the shield gives it x amount of damage resist as a note so I misread it. Anyway this still doesn't change that when actually used there are still lots of ways to counter glaives like I previously stated get creative with your counters.

Not a single actual primary or specials weapon type can do anything to them. 75% damage resistance and the removal of the crit make sure of that. That’s by far the worst defense you could make for them, lmao. “GeT cReAtIvE” 🤣

由Bore編輯: 10/2/2022 6:51:08 PM
Last word is a fantastic counter for it. Like I said just think about no need to get so triggered my dude.
Last word? It’s takes 2 magazines to kill a glaive… and that’s an exotic that normally kills with 3 bullets in 0.53 seconds. Greta way to show how broken glaives are. Lmao, I can’t believe you recommended using something that takes over 4 seconds to kill.
-
由Bore編輯: 10/2/2022 7:01:36 PM
Dude that's a load of rubbish and I can confirm that my self.
You can test it. You do like 12 damage a bullet no matter where you shoot them because you cannot do crit damage and they have 75% damage resistance… Edit: it’s actually 10 damage, which means you need to reload twice, lmao. 20 bullets to kill…
-
由Bore編輯: 10/2/2022 7:06:39 PM
Have you tested it in actual games? Like I said in practice it's different it's inconsistent. If these weapons were so broken wouldn't they be the meta?
An aggressive frame shotgun does 67 damage to a blocking glaive. Even if you get off a full 100 damage melee, that’s not enough to kill someone. Again, easily something you can test. Not being widely used does not mean it isn’t overpowered. They are strong enough to be considered meta. Meta just means most effective tactics available and a galore definitely fits that. You listing counters that objectively don’t counter it should be all the proof you need to see that they’re overpowered.

Numbers are great to off but if they aren't 100% consistent in game what's the point of them. I've been shut down by a shotgun and melee several times while guarding I've shut down other glaive users with last word. I even have clips of this that I am more than happy to find and send or we can even meet up in game and I'll show what I'm talking about but that will have to be tomorrow. I'll friend you so I can invite you later.

You can test these things. You cannot seriously tell someone that using 20 hand cannon shots is a counter to a glaive.

They buffed the damage resist back in witch Queen in pvp to 75% and pve to 97.5% there are patch notes on this. I think on a separate occasion though they buffed projectile velocity and range increases on the weapon to also further increase velocity.

Never been buffed. They did buff the projectile speed by tying it to the range stat. That is a change that happened. There’s also a hit detection buff/fix coming at the same time they plan to nerf the glaive shield in PvP around season 19.
Like I said there are patch notes on this there is even a twab stating what they planned to do including proposed changes to the exotic ones.
The only buff to that glaive block they have made is slowing down how fast it drains and changing the amount of energy you get per hit. The values on it have been the same from the start. I have access to all of the patch notes. It wasn’t hard to double check.

As I have already said 75% is too high check my first comment on this thread. Sure the numbers and stats sound good but in practice it's different I've used a glaive a lot and had them used against me. I can only tell you things from experience because the numbers and values most of the time seem inconsistent. Also if you don't expect a guard to actually guard then what should it do.
