So yeah, this season has been fun and strong with Vex Offensive and the Nightmares. But it has one big negative mark. Namely Bright Dust. Before Shadowkeep dropped, I had 14k after dismanteling all Eververse items. Right now in the 4th week I am down to 400. I have only bought 4 exotic items and 1 legendary so far. 5 things, and my saved up Dust is gone. And with the Cosmetic Engrams being gone this season, there's no other way to get the items.
Now, I can always earn back some Dust by doing the in-game bounties. Right? Right. Except with constant and efficient farming, you only net 200 to 250 per hour. That's 10 to 15 hours of work for a single exotic ghost. Even before Shadowkeep, we got 200 dust per bounty as a default. We could get a over 2k per hour.
How did we get such a drop? How did we go from a steady dust income if you put in some effort, to scraping dust together if you keep at it for hours? How did the economy taking such a massive hit seem like a good idea? Does this really get people to buy the overpriced Silver in order to get cosmetics?
I may be biased to liking the previous setting for our Dust economy over the current one, but I don't think Silver will get any more use out of this either. It's just all negative for everyone. I just dread to think what Festival of the Lost will bring. Because so far it does not look good at all.
