Wow, all the notifications over night.
If you all didn't notice, the thread was satire mocking atheists and their argument that in order to believe something like God, you alone have to give evidence. I hope some of you are atheists and bit on the bait.

>high probability they exist >Earth is in literally perfect conditions and had perfect circumstances for life to form and we haven't seen a single planet with life like us If you mean cells on a planet, sure. Animals? No. From your point of view, the probability of God is low. However, to the majority of people in the world it is high.

There are at least 170 billion galaxies in the observable universe. 10,000 of which can be seen in the above photo. There are at least 10^24 stars in the observable universe. A lot of those planets have stars orbiting them. In our galaxy alone there are around 300 billion planets and at least 8.8 billion of those have Earth like conditions which could sustain life. 8.8 habitable planets in our galaxy alone! To say that there is only life on one of those is more than ignorant. And our galaxy has been around for a long time so life has had plenty of time to develop. We can't say for sure that extraterrestrial life exists but there is an extremely high chance that it does.
>Earth is in literally perfect conditions and had perfect circumstances for life to form and we haven't seen a single planet with life like us
No but we have seen plenty of planets with very similar conditions as our. Kepler 186f for example.
From your point of view, the probability of God is low. However, to the majority of people in the world it is high.
That doesn't make it true. A not so long time ago people believed that alchemy was a legit science, but it isn't.
>Earth is in literally perfect conditions and had perfect circumstances for life to form and we haven't seen a single planet with life like us
I went fishing today and caught nothing. I was fishing in a river that has conditions to support life. so by going with your statement since I didn't catch anything than there is no life in that river at all. Just like that river space is a big place so the chances of catching/finding something are going to be low.
>Earth is in literally perfect conditions and had perfect circumstances for life to form and we haven't seen a single planet with life like us
Because space is only small, right? And there has been an Earth like planet that have been discovered. Can't remember what it's called.

Getting beside the point. To claim something is not real, there has to be proof provided to back that claim. From my own beliefs, I can supply the historical writings of the Bible and other factors to explain why I believe in God.

由Forever Berg编辑: 5/12/2014 1:27:14 AMIt is how it works though. If I say the PS4 is better than the Xbox One, then I have to prove it rather than make Xbox One fans tell me why the Xbox One is better. Don't make a claim if you can't back it up. Why bother arguing with us if you can't even prove us wrong with any resource anywhere at all? You bring up that just because you don't catch a fish in a bucket doesn't mean there aren't fish in the ocean. Well how do you know you aren't limiting your perception of religion and God by scooping the bucket and not realizing God is out there because you refuse to have an open mind to realize he is there, just like the fish. Just the fact that you refuse to acknowledge the Bible in any way is showing you don't want to be open. Actually take a Scriptures class on the Bible and maybe get some unbiased knowledge about the authors of the books and the context of the writings before judging the book. "I don't know anything about the movie but I know it sucks because I want to believe it does".

I'm not making any claim that I can't back up. People don't have to prove that God doesn't exist, because there's no evidence that he does exist. The bible isn't proof, nor a credible piece of work. I don't know who told you that you have to prove something doesn't exist if there's no evidence that it does, but whoever it was is stupid. For something to be proven that it doesn't exist, then there has to be evidence that suggests otherwise. This has been the case since forever.

由Forever Berg编辑: 5/12/2014 1:33:23 AMI'm just using that stupid Razor argument that atheists always use. "To make a claim you have to have evidence to back it up". If you told me you believed unicorns existed, I would say good for you, since I can't prove you wrong and it's none of my business to say anything. Why can't atheists take the high road too? What is there to gain out of berating people with religion constantly when it doesn't change anything? And still, FYPOV the bible isn't support for God. That's your belief. My belief is it contains truths. That should be the end of the argument.
