Alright another question. I'm guessing I have to buy destiny brand new for Xbox one? Or is there a way I can upgrade to the the console for a discounted price?

There is no discount available for upgrades at this time. If you purchased Destiny as a physical disc version (not digital download) you may want to visit your local Gamestop or other buy-sell-trade retailer for other options.
