A new dungeon launch used to be something I would get excited for, and I'm still excited, don't get me wrong
But as someone who does not have a consistent high end playgroup, that excitement is being dampened by the fact that I'm basically gonna have to wait two or three days to go and actually be able to run it.
It's a kind of thing I can accept for raids, the contest race for raids is something that's very important to destiny, but this just feels... hollow. Kind of like an artificial attempt to try and replicate what raids have to make up for the fact that we're gonna be getting less raids every year, and it just doesn't feel like it works to me.
And I am a relatively high end player, I can't imagine that the players on the lower end of the spectrum are happy about this. Dungeons are a sort of entry level end game activity for their sake, and this goes to muddy that a bit, in a way that I don't think is good for the game or the community long term.
Edit: So I wanna make this clear, because I feel like it's important that I do given how much I'm already seeing you types come out of the woodwork (you know who you are).
I do not agree with you guys on the streamer hate. I do not think we should be using streamers as a scapegoat for our problems, and that this community is so ready to attack itself and it's most prominent members is a part of why we are considered to be one of the most toxic communities in gaming right now.
I do not want you guys here, and I am not going to sit here and let you use my post as a springboard for your agenda.
Edit 2: I have been made aware that contest is only gonna be required until the top 3 teams finish, which, while I still disagree with the idea of contest on dungeons, that's significantly more tolerable than having it be required for like 2-3 days the way that they do with raids now.

Toxic developer = Toxic community. That is 100% fact because when a developer works with their community, you don't see any forum like this. The problem is right in front of your nose and you are trying to ignore it, by doing what you tried to say others were doing, passing the buck onto the community. Sorry, not sorry, this business called these fake people that flip on a drop of a dim for views "your community leaders". When the -blam!- in 10 years has any of these "community leaders" that are supposed to support the game and the community ever included the community in anything other than trying to get gamers to buy this business product as if they were selling cars??? Hate, you are damn right, these people helped Pete destroy a once great studio because they only care about their wallets, and they were ready to walk, playing their BS game as usual, but flipped on a dime as usual. What! Contest mode, Ooh, suckers. Whoops, I mean more views. Get real! Edit: You want to know what real streamers are, people who actually care about the product and the community that they include the community in just about everything? Go look up Age Of Empires. Those streamers are what you call real people, unlike destiny streamser that are always trying to sell you something.
