So regarding stacking in random playlists...

... can we all agree that it is kinda douchy? Meaning, by choosing to stack, you intentionally ruin the experience for average random playlist participant. I mean, I understand the inclination, and would not oppose 'I have friends to play with' argument, but can we please agree that putting random teams against well coordinated voice-enabled stacks is kinda not the best way to level the playing field? Me personally, having all the opportunities to stack and loving playing with my mates while on the comms, I just cannot force myself to stack in any of random playlists because I know all too well how it feels like on the other side of the fence. Can we please have better matchmaking ffs, ideally putting stacks against stacks (and maybe discouraging stacking in freaking 'random' playlists due to finding another stack potentially taking extra time in the queue)? Another way to deal with this problem I've seen in other games is limiting stack size. Like 1/2 or 2/3 of team size, or whatever. Works well too, balancing the team spirit with random playlist nature. ============================= UPDATE: I was away for a bit and it seems this topic got some traction in the meantime, mainly because de wey I choose to formulate my thoughts, probably. Partially that was for reasons of attracting attention, partially - because yes, I was a bit upset. As usual, people react to and express more what *they* are thinking about and care about themselves than to the original message (which was primarily about gambit btw), so let me clarify where I'm coming from. What I DON'T mean with my post: 1. Playing with your friends in an MMO is bad. Duuh. 2. Teamwork, coordination and being result-oriented is bad 3. Winning a fair competition and celebrating that however you choose to, including tea-bagging emotes or talking sht or whatever, is bad 4. Optimizing your playtime is bad What I AM saying is: If *I* was to act that way in this game, I'd definitely feel like a douche. Rest is just an extrapolation. Just recognize the fact that there's a massive and legitimate solo/random (whatever you call it) participation in every random playlist in this game, and that's not to be ignored. Those who say "in a team-oriented multiplayer game [insert assertion]" are either missing the point or consciously/unconsciously ignoring the fact that most of the time they queue stacked for any random playlist, they get put against... oh, what do you know - a bunch of randoms! Which makes "team-oriented" argument moot since it's not about how somebody thought the game should be played when they designed it, it's about how people actually choose to play the game. Now, if you recognize that, then it is just a matter of personal preference to either go "fk them blueberries, they deserve that for soloing where they can as well stack, they suck anyway" or recognize another fact, the fact that this game design is somewhat flawed and could use some improving. If you either go 'fk them' consciously or It's just never even crosses your mind, das sum douchebaggery my friend, any way you put it. Just own up to that, nobody's saying douches are not allowed to play or enjoy this game either. In any case, while I was seemingly pointing my finger at your stacks while sitting on a somewhat high horse with my post, who I was really pointing at was devs standing behind you, pointing in a hope that you will turn back and ask them: "wtf dude"?

  • Many cowards only run stacked. They won’t even play alone. It inflated their stats. Makes them feel better about themselves.

  • I had been away from the game for about 4 months and was a sweat and now I’m trying to get my aim back. I often times play solo but I sometime play with a few of my friend who also happen to be clan mates. They also happen to be sweats and I realized how cancerous that I was before by looking the their play style. I feel bad when we’re a three stack and there’s a random that ques in with them. The random will make a mistake and my friends will go into the voice chat and ridiculed and curse the poor guy out. Even when I was a sweatey squeaker I never did that.
now I’m having fun with a bow in crucible pissing my friends off by easily stealing kills. That’s what a bow is good for.
• No. It is fine as is. I mainly solo or duo queue and i still have fun. Even if teams are stacked it does not mean they are good at all or are actually trying to win. I have played many matches where im fighting a four, or six, stack and my rag tag randos and I wipe the floor with them. It is literally just luck of where rng places the most skilled players in matches. At the end of the day, sometimes you are the bug, other times you are the windshield.

How the f**k is it my fault you don’t have friends to play this game with. If other games are better, go play that. Other than that you might as well either make some friends or play rumble. But I’m sure with rumble you would find something else to whine and cry about:

    • It’s a team oriented multiplayer game, go play something else or rumble if you want to be solo this complaint makes no sense

Meaning, by choosing to stack, you intentionally ruin the experience for average random playlist participant.
No, we absolutely cannot agree on that. I play solo a lot but I'm also in a clan and have friends in the game and we'll run some Quickplay in a group of six just to get the challenges done or Iron Banner when that is on. Are we douches for doing that? I wouldn't say so. Are we intending to ruin other people's experiences when we do this? Hell no, we're just playing the game together. You know, because games are more fun with your friends. At no point does anyone in my group say "Hey, let's run QP in a six-stack and laugh at all the people we pub stomp!" The fact that you seem to think people are intentionally being douches just by playing the game in a group says a lot more about you than it does about them.

      •
can we all agree that it is kinda douchy?
No. What is douchey is telling others they cannot play with their friends because others want to play by themselves. Limited stack size will just move the target. Instead of complaining about 4 or 6 stacks it will be 2 and 3 stacks. All playlists are random. We all want to play the game, some of us like to play with friends.

            • "you intentionally ruin the experience for average random playlist participant." I don't think.players stack for the sole purpose of ruining others experience...firstly, Destiny is a social game meant to be played with friends and some people actually like to do that...secondly, they want to win and it's perfectly within the rules to form a team for your best shot...people don't specifically play with friends just make other people feel bad, they actually just want to enjoy the game and do so competively with a better chance of progressing...why would think they play the game just to give others a bad time?

              • Let me preface this response by stating that I understand the frustration of going into Quick Play as a solo and meeting a 4 or 6 stack...this happened this past weekend and I got my ass handed to me. I got 2 kills the whole match, it was awful...but it was also impressive at the same time, these guys were a well oiled machine. I moved to Rumble and had a gas. Personally, I can't get angry at a team of 4/6 that goes into Quick Play. Unless you go into Rumble, all the game modes are team based (Control, Clash). How can you get angry at entering a team mode and getting beaten by a team? Just one mans opinion...

You people act like you're getting put against a 6 stack every goddamn game. Give that shit a rest kids, you are not. I play a good 90% of crucible solo and I hardly ever play against a 6 man lobby. Sure there are the 3 and 4 man parties but really give a -blam!-ing rest. You are not being put up against full fireteams all the time or the vast majority of the time or even on a remotely regular basis. Furthermore, no playing quick play with 6 of your friends is not "douchy" or "ruining other people's experience". Get the f.uck over that shit already. I don't care play with whoever you want as much as you want. This whole mentality you f.ucking morons have against this is beyond r.etarded. Time to take your goddamn medicine. You aren't the best, you don't deserve the same things as others just because you think you you do and you WILL lose until you step your own game up. Stop trying to blame your losses and shortcomings on other things or people. You control what you are capable of, take ownership of that and stop pissing your pants on the forums about this stupid shit already.

                  • No. Use lfg for a fireteam. If you play solo that is your choice. I’m not saying this hatefully or anything. We each make our choice. It doesn’t make either way wrong. I have played both ways, and have won and lost both ways. Just a matter of adapting 🎃

I agree matchmaking needs fixing. But calling stacks douchey aint the way to go about it chief. Blame bungie, not the stacks. People can stack up all they want. Just the fact that solo matckmaking exists in the game and it is sooooo poorly done, it might as well not exist because bungie are simply adding to the bad player experiences the game already offers. Either make it sbmm or make it like trials. Leaving such a poor quality system in a game is just bad it might aswell be gone.

                        • I dont get this, this never use to be a thing, in cod or battlefield you went in with a team or solo eitherway there was no choice and yet there was no problem, now fortnite and other battle royal games offer a split option and people want it everywhere, did you notice that its only battle royal games that give you this option? Because of the size of map and servers and amount of people you may be facing, in a normal multiplayer fps, i know its a mmo of sorts, but crucible is at its base a multiplayer fps and the way you cue is your choice, why have other lists not done this either, excluding battle royale games, think about it, because its not necessary. Why should it be a thing. How are we discriminating against people who take the time to play with friends, i play solo and with teams, i lose and win, never knew this is a thing.....? 🤔

                          • Fully agree. The difference in experience is night and day. This weekend was especially toxic. Faced many stacks of Luna’s and Not Forgotten in QP. These weren’t friends or clan mates as they would have different clan tags. These were kd farming stacks. Either way Bungie just needs to add a solo queue. I still enjoy this game but my patience was honestly tested this weekend and went to Xbox store several times hovering over RD2. Didn’t buy because I know as soon as I do I won’t touch D2 anymore. Bungie please add a solo queue.

                          • That y some sort it sbmm is needed. I don’t mind playing a team of 6, even when I am solo queuing, but playing against a team of six with 5 of them running nf and Luna is not fun
