Make destiny 2 hard as hell to reach max light.

Dangle that carrot for the 99‰ so there is something to strive for. Destinys problem is you don't have to do any high-end content to reach max light. Nightfall, raids like in the old days should drop exotics or xur. 3oc should be forgotten. I remember the time we all looked forward to Tuesday for just the chance to get that wanted exotic. If you didn't get it you were so nervous and hopeful when you decrypted that purple heavy. If you complain its to grindy well you're still playing and have a reason too. Made it to easy bungholes.

        • Why so casual players who have lives outside destiny will not want to play? Stupid idea. I have a wife, a life and a job. Sorry I do not have time to run 3 characters and run the raids run after run or the nightfall's. As far as the grind I grind and work three of coins the raids and the strikes and nightfalls and I reached 400 about 2 weeks ago.

            I don't care about max light it's only useful for the raid, iron banner, and trials. If it wasn't for iron banner and trials I would never bother with max light. I just like to play crucible. It is so annoying to have to level up my light over a couple weeks to make sure steamers that reach max light in one day don't destroy me in trials. It is fine how it is now. If you make it harder to reach max light (like year one) fewer people (the casuals) would play because they would not have access to the end game content.

            • You make it sound like getting max light is the whole aim of the game. Getting to max light just makes it slightly easier to do a few of the events People complained in year 1 that everyone looked the same because there were few ways to get to year 1 so there were only a few armour sets. Now there is more variety and more ways of reaching max light people are complaining again That's the Destiny community

            • it's true. i know some people who have hit 400 by literally playing nothing but crucible. they are missing out on the entire rest of the game

              • Sure, make it just like Year 1 again so we can flood the forums with similar complaints of how nothing is dropping....just to have the system changed back to where it is now. Makes sense.

                I'm okay with the grind being long. I'm not okay with the grind relying on ridiculous amounts of RNG with the chance that the game will just say "screw you" and refuse to give you what you need to advance your character. That's not fun or well-designed at all. Vault of Glass was fine until people were stuck at a certain level for months all because of a bad loot system.

                • I don't mind the grind, but I'm not understanding this fascination with yr 1. I mean some things were ok but i don't miss forever 29. For me personally i haven't raided that much just because my schedule usually gets in the way. I agree about exotics from nightfalls that i did like in yr 1.

                  Light chasing isn't content. Destiny's problem is it's horrible end game which has no relevant content. There is literally no point in max light I this game. That's the main issue that needs resolving. Challengeless, boring repetitious content is not necessary. Lots of games have grinding but they do a good job of having enough variety to make it not feel like a grind. Bungies arrogance and misguided belief that destiny is like Pokemon go is retarded. No bungie, MOST people don't want to play the same boring 5 levels 1000 times. Check your retention if you want proof. MOST people don't enjoy the grind so they don't keep playing. Only super addicted hardcore and super casual players stick around more than a month past DLC now.

                    • The 99% you mention are actually the minority. Most players aren't 400. Most haven't beaten a raid or done trials or any high level gameplay. Forum users are typically more invested than most players.

                      • Well, since most of the remaining player base seems to whiny little brats.... We probably won't even have a light level. You'll just get all the gear at the start, and all enemies, including bosses will die in one shot. Oh, and since many are happily swallowing Bungies recycled crap, we'll fight the Taken again, but they will be purple.

                        • I would prefer skill=reward vs time=reward. People who make this game their life and complain about low content because they burned through it diarrhea gaming for 24-48 hours that's their own damn fault.

                        • Not all of us wanna play a game for an equivalent time of more than two months. FWI if it's that easy, u should be maxed on ALL of your characters by now. However I agree with your post that people shouldn't wine about grind.

                          • Technically it's not the game that is the issue it's the players. In reality, if you have to run the same raid 100 times to go from level 29 to level 30, that's not any different than running it 100 times at the max level of 30. You're asking for an artificial reason of replayability. The game has the same content either way.
