I can't believe you're excited about OLD GEAR!
Seriously what is wrong with the small amount of player Base that is left in destiny!?!! How can you be excited about getting OLD yes that's right OLD weapons to use again? Don't you want new gear and weapons? Don't you want bungie to actually be creative with your money and give you new content? Weapons armour etc? Or are you just happy running around with mida for the next few years? Lol
Edit note: okay I see some people have missed point of my post judging by certain comments, so here..
Firstly..What is the point in them taking them away in first place? Then giving them back and expecting the community to all say hey thanks so much bungie, when in reality they haven't done anything!
Secondly: I'm a year 1 player, I like destiny, I do miss some old stuff but why is it so hard for bungie to create new weapons armour etc that is better than old stuff, not bad stuff so all we want to do is use our old stuff!
NOTE: There seems to be a real lack of understanding of what this post is about!! Half get it.. Alot don't! The point is that bungie is giving u back exotics they took away.. Now the year 2 stuff isn't as good as year 1 exotics, hence why everyone wants year 1 stuff back... Through lack of vision and creativity bungie seem unable to make new weapons and armour that make you forget about the old stuff..

"Bungie is love," I say, "Bungie is life" My dad hears me and calls me a scrub. I knew he was just jealous of my devotion to bungie. I called him a fgt. he slaps me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. It's bungie! I'm so happy! He whispers in my ear "this is my crappy game" He grabs me with his powerful nerfing hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I open my wallet for bungie. He takes it and penetrates my butthole. It hurts so much but I do it for Bungie. I can feel my wallet empty as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please bungie. He roars a might roar as his love leaves me penniless. My dad walks in. Bungie looks him straight in the eye and says, "It's all nerfed anyway" bungie leaves through my window. Bungie is love. Bungie is life.

Why not just add to the pile of choices instead of making a whole new one and discarding the old? As much as I love the idea of new gear, its still nice to have some old favorites still hanging around as well. Plus it gives more of a selection. Really hope Icebreaker someday makes a return. HearAfter is amazing, but Icebreaker has always been a favorite.

There is a kernel of a lie at the centre of this post: that that old gear was somehow "taken away". It may not have been very viable in endgame PvE for a while, but it was [b]never taken away[/b]. It has always been right there in your vaults or on your blueprints kiosk. PvP fans of older weapons never stopped using them. The NLB crew never put it down. The MIDA fanboys still pack a punch. It's just endgame where we collectively took a break from using these weapons - and mainly PvE. I'm glad the PvE meta changed up and that it will be some time before we see "Icebreaker vs Warpriest" or the inevitable "6 Gjallys, 2 Sisters". These are joys yet to come, but at least we know that they aren't the "only" way to beat these encounters. New gear is viable, more than viable and we were willing to try it because there were no alternatives.

Bungie could give us the best experience ever next expansion and all you would get from the forums is how much TTK wasn't that bad and how year 1 was sooooo much better
