Here are my own findings on dealing damage Hammer of Sol

[b]Findings:[/b]
Sunbreaker Titans have whopping 55% damage reduction while super is active.
A 37 impact category sniper does 204 critical damage.
Regular high impact Snipers of 31 impact (LDR/Longbow/1000 yard stare) - cannot get precision kill on Sunbreaker while Hammer of Sol is active with only 188 critical damage.
Couple of things this throws up:
1. The testing was done in actual games (I always play solo) and other dudes were also shooting at the Sunbreaker while I did headshots. Just wondering if they go for max armor (in build) + max armor boost (chest piece) - will it tank a 204 damage headshot?
2. This is kinda important to note : A 31 impact sniper which is available from vendor at Tower cannot OHK a SUnbreaker. But they are allowed to OHK other 'roaming' supers. Meaning there is no option to run the sniper game unless you get hands on a 37 impact sniper.
3. The only 37 impact sniper now available is Black Spindle, which is through a hellish side quest of its own. And takes up an exotic slot. If someone new were to play TTK, they won't have legacy weapons like Black Hammer and Efrideet's Spear. Basically next to nothing at[i] having a chance [/i]of taking down this super with precision shot (while other supers can be taken down with vendor weapons)
And finally,
People talking of folowwing up with nades, melees and what not - dude getting near to that overprotected yet highly offensive AND mobile super is next to impossible. Its a joke how easily BD can be killed now (shotty to face and melee) - try doing the same to a Sunbreaker..will be over before the SHotty has chance to be equipped even. As for GG - it takes 2 shots to down a Sunbreaker. With TTK the Symbiote helm is out, so no more 4 GG shots. And the GG is easiest to snipe, nade, do a shotty run or plain add some Hawk shit to the head while strafing. Try doing that with and AoE thing like Sunbreaker hammers.
And the Tank Class argument:
[spoiler]'Oh, but Titans are supposed to be the tank class. They should not be able to be killed by the same things that knock out the rest of classes with roaming supers'
Well then, we need Titan's support to ask Bungie that other classes get these specs:
[b]Warlocks:[/b] ability to transform incoming bullets (at least some of it) into confetti that will confuse the shooter - all that knowledge based class you know. Muhfuggin transmutation knowledge right there.
[b]Hunters:[/b] SInce they're the Ninja/Lone wolf class, should now be given an ability to apply some space age jutsu - they can split into a clone (like the Taken are doing) but the clone will come up behind and put an upturned underwear on the opponents head (followed by a stab of course), while the damage is taken by the original.
Oh you guys meant Warlocks arent knowledge based class and Hunters aren't ninja/lone wolf based class [i]literally[/i]?
Cool, so in a game where damage of weapons, and resistance to damage are the most important factors - we'll keep one part equal for all, and make the extreme resistance part biased to one class[/spoiler]

Oh and I like how you point out that weapon damage and damage resistance are the most important factors and yet your entire post is about the Sunbreaker super which isn't active for about 95% of a PvP match. So you can't beat them 5% of the time? Use your superior class abilities and beat them the other 95% of the time. Unless of course you're like most other players that frequently cry nerf and are just garbage at PvP.

It's the solar subclass armor chest plus the max armor stat that makes them not die

11 RepliesIt may need clarification, but I don't think sunbreaker by itself reduces damage 55%. I think sunbreaker does 50% and the perk on vanguard gear, "additional armor when using a solar based subclass" adds another 5%. I could be completely wrong, but I know this perk is available for other subclass archetypes. I.E. would a stormcaller wearing "additional armor when using an arc based subclass" reduce 55%?

Also because you people REFUSE to realize that this ENTIRE SUBCLASS relies on it's super. It literally has nothing outside of its super,a decent melee with t rex range and basic grenades, They have no utility at all. You nerf the super and it becomes pointless to use as a subclass, it has no overshield,no evade,no invis,no range, no 1 hit melee, no blink,no special perk that separates them for any other subclass,it's literally ALL super. The sunbreaker is a trade off subclass,you want a strong super? You give up nearly everything else. Although idk why I'm even wasting my time saying this as logic doesn't go over well in these forums, people are focusing solely on the super and how with a FULL ARMOR BUILD it can take a high impact sniper to the head or barely survive golden gun, but yea, you know,forget the fact that they are left with pretty much nothing without their super, because it's all about nerfing the super because people are whiny about them not being able to 1v1 a titan in its friggin super(the only thing the subclass has going for it)

59 RepliesEveryone compares Sunbreaker with bladedancers and gunslingers etc. and says that Sunbreaker is OP. What alot of people dont seem to understand tough is that Sunbreaker is the only class with a skilltree completely focused around the super. It's a really good class when your super is activated but outside of the super it is really not that great. Sunsingers get double nades and over shields on melee HIT. Bladedancers have invisibilty, backstab, blink and faster weapon switches. Nightstalkers are able to track enemies, throw smoke grenades with there melee charge and have shadestep. The list goes on and on.. I think you got my point there. What does a sunbreaker have outside of his SUPER? Of course Sunbreaker should have the strongest super if the whole skilltree is focused on it, they have nothing else going for them.

11 RepliesIt is mid range.... the armor reduction is the same as blade dancer. Golden gun is long range with three one shot kills. There is no point to your post. The subclasses are balanced.
