Raid Matchmaking? Yes or No

Yes

2297

No

1457

Should there be matchmaking for the raid? Yes or No? No in between answers or "Yes but ......" YES = matchmaking, just matchmaking, no filters, options, or kicking. Matchmaking as it is in the strike playlist now. NO = no matchmaking IF YOU SAY "YES MATHCMAKING BUT WITH......" YOUR ANSWER SHOULD BE NO BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT MATCHMAKING THE WAY IT IS If matchmaking was made available it would be just like the current strike playlist matchmaking. No filters, options, or kicking. If it is kept the same then raid and weekly strikes will continue without matchmaking. Those are your options. • Biased. You need to do the raid before having a vote. Thats like voting for a politician without knowing what he stands for.

  • For the life of me, I can't understand what the perceived harm would be if matchmaking were introduced to the raid. Every time I've done the raid, I've had to pull out a laptop, go somewhere like destiny tracker.com, troll the LFG page for some willing contestants, and 20 minutes later start the raid. The end result from that is basically the same as random matchmaking, but I have to do all the work manually. It's like.... "I really want to play your game and complete the hardest part... But bungie seems intent on penalizing me for not having 5 other ps4-owning friends that are always playing when I am."

    • Yes. But you should be able to have the option to enable or disable matchmaking for this.

        • In some ways, the line of thinking for many goes like this. That making a group set itself up must be better than the game doing it. That randomly or semi-randomly having the game do it for you must be inferior. Yet, why does that have to be anywhere near true? How many people playing Destiny on the Xbox One (say) have two or five close friends (not just random players who happen to be on their friends list) that would never quit or give up or stop communicating or be disruptive? Because that might be the only way to get a strong team together. If don't have three or six people in your fire team(s) when you're looking for an activity, why doesn't it make sense to fill in the activity. What is the difference between the game putting together six people who are searching for a raid already and six people doing so by posting in an LFG thread on a forum. There might not be a difference in how it's done.. Everything has some shortcoming to overcome. As in, how many times have how many of us been waiting for a friend of a friend trying to find "just one more" and then the entire thing falling apart. Just fill back in the raids with matchmakers as you go along. Isn't this supposed to be a social game? That already happens in strikes,so why not in everything else. Reminds me of the durn music mix being fixed, too loud and overbearing over voice and effects, because that's the way they want it, and there is no logical reason. So this matchmaking, it's almost backwards in Destiny. If you are a 28 or 29 wanting to do a level 8 or 14 strike alone, tough luck. If you are wanting to do a level 26 very hard weapon bounty strike with the game filling in your team, tough luck. When you need the help you don't get it, just when you don't need it necessarily. Where's the option either way. It might not be the same people, but remember, this is the same company that made you wander around down and up faceless confusing mazes full of exploding monsters in tight spaces with limited ammo,. ;) Just worse, because there's no matchmaking! :D

        • No. You'll have people joining and leaving matches over and over in attempts to find someone near the end.

there really is no reason why not to do it, for those of us without a huge friends pool and or limited time it would be great, at the moment i have never done the raid, and no using forums is not fast and easy its slow and boring as shit. For all those that say "but you will just get matched with idiots merrrr". Thats fine dont use the match making keep doing what you have been doing....but for the rest of us it will open up the game so much more.

          • I vote no, but open to the idea of using MM for the raids. I'd add 3 more people to the limit of 6 for a public match made raid, to make it a little easier/accessible for those without mics.

          • I don't get why it shouldn't be there. I mean people still can and will get together in the forums to form raidgroups if they want to do an easy run. But on the other hand you can just try to join some group for example to help them through matchmaking.

          • Its super easy. Add it and let the people still continue to organize themselves in groups besides it. Problem solved.

          • You're offering a false dilemma here. It is not either/or, but both. It is strange how people have such difficulty with the notion of synthesis. Let's have both matchmaking for the raid and the option to form your own team if you so wish.

I have never seen an "AFKers in raid need to blah blah blah" topic on the forum, so I vote no and always will.

            • Yes but optional. I would also like a status...like i am looking for hard raid only. Or a filter search to select from guardians lfg. Basically i want mmo shit

              • I believe that yes there should be matchmaking but there are lots of problems if this were to be implemented, one is that of course like in Strikes theres always the chance of someone being AFK leaving the team to do all the work and still getting rewards. Another is the level of said match made team, a level of full 26's will get far but once they get to Atheon will the damage decrease due to the level 27 Goblins and Pretorians it would be much more difficult then theres the level 28 supplicants. Then theres the problem of what if no one has mic or no one in the made team knows what they're doing and just keep getting wiped or someone leaves the team when lets say at the Templar leaving the rest of the team to fend for themselves. I am all for matchmaking in VoG I think it would make the experience alot more appealing to players who cannot find a team and are just waiting. So yes in my opinion there should be matchmaking, but there would also be some downfalls to it if implemented.

              • A polar answer of blind matchmaking or nothing would most likely result in nothing. Thus a compromise must be reached, the most likely being a LFG system in the tower, or easier recruiting between in game players. Although I'm not sure how feasible that is from a technical standpoint, it seems to be something players can get behind.

                • Another way which can help make matches work is if players can only be match to the tier they completed ie. "checkpoint" This will prevent players from dropping in and out, hoping to reach someone at the end of the raid.

                  • What they should allow is a public recruiting system at the tower where people can enlist and join. Having an automated matchmaking will not help much in the long term success of the entire raid. If there was a way the guardians can join and participate as a group publicly. Then this may give a better chance for the team to stay together for the long haul.

                    •
Guardians Make Their Own Fate
I see this quote pop up during the raid and it irks me quite a bit. Given the state of play in the raid, It should read "Warning, guardians may be subjected to random glitches, prepare to wipe"

                    • I say yes to matchmaking as I haven't even got in on the VoG at all!!! It's just bungie thinks everyone has friends or just that everyone has an Xbox one!! My friends list is empty and I don't care you can take the piss all you lot like!! But matchmaking would be good cause I've done a lot of strikes with random people and they have all ways played together as a team even with out a mic plus a lot of people take games to -blam!-ing seriously it's a game it's not life or death!!!! So I think as this game is just not worth it anymore I might bin it as might not bother with it when I get the MCC tomorrow!!! So to the people who say now tuff shit!

                      • I think matchmaking is 50/50 for that, only because people will have their own agenda like exploring and people going afk... Would be nice to have matchmaking with a vote system but at the same time it would be a double edge sword. People in groups of 3 or 4 would vote people they don't like.
