As warlock - voidfang vest vs ice breaker?

I got the vest. Because my Sniper rifle was a bit better, but it's a legendary. Final Boss.

i ended up getting the ice breaker because i got the last couple coins luckily. initially i was iffy since i love pvp, but after soloing alot of the weeklies and dailies i realize how amazing this gun is. also from the little raid i did. from sheer versatility alone this weapon is amazing. i hope voidfang shows up again tho because that piece really fits my character build plan

Ice breaker. I got voidfang 2 weeks ago and havent really used them. Use the Light Beyond Nemesis helmet for your armor exotic.

I opted for Voidfang for two reasons: 1. Icebreaker isn't the quick reload sniper style I like (has no reload), which is just a shallow preference and is not much a better option as a [i]counter[/i] sniper. I like counter sniping more than just sniping... more fulfilling. 2. I need better Voidwalker gear.

Ice Breaker is amazing hands down. Unlimited ammo........!!!! Best sniper in the game. I use it up close and personal even more than my primary.

2 RepliesEdited by Dreadzyn: 10/10/2014 7:03:16 PMI'm a Warlock, with both Subclasses done. I went with the Voidfang. I already have Lengendary Praedyth's Revenge Sniper Rifle fully maxed. It has almost the exact same perks - without the reload capability. You have to ask yourself....how often will you use the sniper rifle as compared to extra armor? And, if you do use the Sniper Rifle...do you want to wait 8 seconds, before you get more ammo? Sniping spots, are few and far between.... especially in PVP. I can see it being used more in a PVE type setting. For that, I'll take my sniper rifle, over the Ice Breaker. I carry extra ammo. Just giving info

4 RepliesI got void fang even though I play as a sunlock. It's a shame that once again I get no discipline from it. I'm curious if the "spawn with grenade energy" means that I get a grenade each time I spawn, or if it gives me two with my "gift of the sun perk"

The chest felt more pvp-ish to me, which would be awesome while I'm working on the thorn bounty... But after that, I'd probably use it less. Ice Breaker is the perfect standoff weapon for PVE. So, that was an easy choice. Though, it kinda makes me wish I'd grabbed an AR for a primary instead of a scout rifle. Oh well, I'll have the marks to buy Shadow Price in another week or so. ;)

1 ReplyI opted for the gun because it will help me complete the weekly strikes instead of relying on hoping I get carried. The vest is nice but the str is a turn off. Given the choice between more super damage and infinite amo + explosion damage.... Welp, the choice was clear. Only reason I struggled was because I'm 4 coins short of having both. Weeps.

2 RepliesI've had it an used it for awhile now. The str stat kinda sucks but the grenade energy perk is real nice. I think in pvp it's great but pve it's ok, Just my opinnion.

3 RepliesI think I should repost my situation lol: I have 14 or so coins after I do nightfall. I have a exotic bounty for Pocket infinity on me currently. I have no legendaries for weapons (all rares). I don't have a preference for pvp or pve I like them both, but I run voidwalker to pvp instead of sunsinger like most do. For PVE, I use sunsinger.
