Particularly that shared on social media such as Instagram. A lot of people are pretty negative towards it.

They are great for simply documenting what you see, they will never be able to compete with DSLR or Light Field tech.

I use phones for random pictures. Cameras for events and pictures that just call for a higher quality image. I don't consider myself a photographer. As well as I certainly don't hate on photographers who use smartphones. Its all just preference to me I supoose. Just as long as they've captured a truly incredible image that I find interesting. Eh, there's my two cents if they mean anything.

Some pics taken from cell phones or iPods aren't bad. It just mostly depends on how many pixels they have. But cameras do give the best results.
