Why Bungie, why? Come on. It's a freaking shooter. Res is so freaking overrated. Please don't do this again. 60fps for shooters y'all. 60.
Edit: this post was pretty pointless. So many of you can't see a difference between 30 and 60. Wow. There's a MAJOR difference. O well, I tried. This isn't the community for me.
Some of you are so far up Bungies butt its ridiculous.

Destiny should have been 5 FPS, that way the player can really connect with their Guardian and see all the details of the world of Destiny without any quick glancing.

3 RepliesYeah there are a lot of fanboys here, I'm with you. The guys at 343 are doing better than bungie with competitive PvP with dedicated servers and 60fps. The only reason I would actually get a xbox one. I think if the older gen was not holding us back, it be another story. But yeah I agree, most people on here are idiots for not noticing the difference. I mean, it's smoother, less latency and more responsiveness. If anyone has the last of us remastered, play it how it is, then turn the 30fps option on and you will see the difference.

3 RepliesThey wanted everyone to experience the same game, that's all. I'm not agreeing with the choice, 60fps would be great. But you'd be surprised most people's TVS come in 60fps so it's scaled up, each frame goes twice so it looks smoother
-
2 RepliesA lot of you are forgetting that the game was developed for 4 platforms (and maybe PC later at 60/1080p) they obviously couldn't pull it off for 360/ps3 (btw have u all seen how great it looks on last gen???) and why take anymore time and money investing into 60fps? It takes away from the pace and balance that Bungie games are known for. Same reason I don't play COD to damn twitchy and fast. You're dead before you even know where the bullets are coming from and the jaggies and lag are shitty. Halo never suffered much in that department for me.

60 frames in nice, but it isn't at all necessary. Once you get used to it it's just hard to go back.
-
I'm with you bro. I'd prefer 60 frames at 900p instead of 30 frames at 1080p. Godly the sequel will get it right. All FPS should be 60 frames. That's where all the competitive shooters ate going from i.e. Battlefield, COD, Titanfall. I think even The Order 1886 is 60 frames. Point is it's just for shooters. I love that buttery smooth look. Mmmm

1 ReplyMaybe we are up bungies butt... Or maybe some of us really can't tell the difference
-
I can play any game on my ps3 without lag even GTA 5, and I didn't notice any frame rate problems during the beta so 30fps is fine with me..
-
Oh no, everyones at the same fps and the game looks good on a flatscreen, i might as well just cancel my pre-order because the game will obviously be shit because of that one reason.
-
Whine much?
-
It could be worse it could be running at 45 fps and that just weird looking.
-
1 ReplyYou can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p unless you have a TV that's what 60inches or more The frame rate is what matters the most It's the lag between your screen and your controller that's most important 60 frames all the way FVCK this 30 FPS crap it's 2014 GTA V dips below 30 into the teens and that is unacceptable your character doesn't respond to what I tell him on my controller fast enough Anyone who thinks otherwise is uneducated or dumb
-
What a thread! Guys just accept that it's 30 FPS this time around. Yes the specs would be nicer if it was better but it's not. :) We're all on the same boat and excited to play the game!
-
2 RepliesThe next gen could totally do it too! Should have put 30FPS on old gen
-
1 ReplyDoes it really matter? the game still looks better then most FPS's out now, just don't get it if it bothers you that much its not that serious.
-
" We want 60 fps its 2014" "Oh yea we want graphics to be worse than you intended too" "This game is obviously just a shooter graphics don't matter" Kek. Be mad.
-
FPS's I can tell a little bit, I mostly notice the difference in TPS's. For fPS'rs 30 works.
-
Next time man. Hopefully.

Edited by No Weyloran: 8/24/2014 9:31:25 PMI actually prefer the very good destiny graphics at 30fps but that's just me

7 RepliesIt is amazing how all of this is happening this generation. Never really saw such big debates last gen about res of fps. Now all of a sudden those are the points people use to argue about. Everyone just needs to relax a bit. This coming from a PC gamer. I have played games at over a 100 fps and 30. Only time things get annoying to me is if it drops below 30 and gets choppy. Just my opinion of course, just funny seeing console player touting specs more than PC players now.

4 RepliesGameplay > all.

This link will help anyone see the difference.
-
They locked next gen at 30 fps because they want there to be less of a gap between last gen and this gen
-
1 ReplyI agree, I'd rather the game be 720 and 60 than 1080 30. But, like the game developers for Ratchet and Clank said "“Our community team did some research into the question of framerate. And in particular they found that there was a clear correlation between graphics scores in reviews (where they are provided) and the final scores. And they found no such correlation between framerate and the graphics scores nor the final scores.” However it does appear that gameplay scores are also influenced by graphics scores. i.e. Better looking games appear to be more ‘fun’ to reviewers, in general,” he added." It's the reviewers that are ruining games.
