I'm guessing it's probably too late to win anything but just thought I'd contribute anyway! Why I want to play destiny? Well it's a few simple facts... (fanboy disclaimer: I have never owned an xbox or played any halo other than the original) so why destiny? - My gaming history is mostly MMOs and RTSs with only recently, due to the general demise of all big MMO games, I have resorted to FPSs, not for want of trying every "next big thing". However, I fell in love with crysis 3/battlefield 3 etc and very much look forward to a progression of the genre, and that's exactly what I see Destiny as. - The concept of an sci-fi FPS with a continual progress system in a persistent world were tactical squad based gameplay is at the core, not only falls in line with my gaming history but is something I've dreamt would exist one day. - The art direction is nothing short of a breath of fresh air making for a truly polished and immersive feel. - The gameplay shown at E3 looked robust, and gripping without being repetitive (pet hate of FPS genre as a whole). Overall, I think this game is going to be simply awesome, if not revolutionary, and it might just be the first game in over a decade to lure me away from my beloved PC (unless it's announced between now and launch of course!) Anyways, best of luck with development, cheers!

Because I need something better to do than read all these long posts.

Edited by mad man matt 1: 7/9/2013 1:51:15 AMI've played all the Halo's since I could talk, but they're a bit repetitive after a while. I want to have a great new shooter to play on my new Xbox One. Plus some of those bad-guys seem a little bit to over-confident, and I wouldn't mind getting a few shots on them either :D Also, I want to play destiny so that all this hype I've been creating (with my blog, http://bungiedestiny.tumblr.com/) turns into an epic gaming community (public events? Heck yes!)

2 RepliesOk Bungie, I've written on this a lot and every time I read my comment over and over again I realize I'm not saying enough. I said that I've been following Bungie since Halo CE, but who hasn't? That isn't a huge accomplishment. And I went to the midnight release of Halo 2, 3, and 4. But that's not to big of a deal either. I want to play Destiny because I LOVE this company, I've been wanting to work at Bungie since I was a kid. Believe me when I say when I saw the tribute room in Halo Reach, I was overwhelmed with nostalgia, happiness and just wonder. When I was a kid and I had a hard day at school I could come home and play Halo and escape into another universe. And to know that even though I don't work at Bungie, I'm still apart of it when I play your games, and help you take over the world. When I played halo 4 it wasn't the same. It didn't feel like halo. And I came to realize that its not because of the graphics, or gameplay, or story. its you. You complete games. and when I heard about destiny I didn't even have to think about purchasing it because YOU were making it. You guys made most of my childhood and I cant wait to play destiny so you can take me through new characters and stories and help me escape from bullying or school like when I was a kid. And being awarded a poster signed by all of you would make it even better. Because I would have a piece of Bungie. Thank you.

Over the years, Bungie has created the most enjoyable community experience I've ever known. Not only do I look forward to conversing with my comrades on XBL, but also with so many people whom I've never met yet have so much in common with right here on Bungie.net. Funneling that community experience into Halo was well done, although it didn't quite capture the vastness that is Bungie's community. It looks to me as though Destiny will surpass any expectations I had from Bungie, and will give us Bungians a new place to trade war stories and talk about anything and everything - I'm into Destiny for the community experience.

I was never good at writing, but i'll do my best for whomever is judging this (Deej probably :D) This hopefully won't be long either, but here i go. Destiny is an fps, which appeals to me, but isn't the only reason I will be picking it up in 2014. Destiny is revolutionary, such as in a the way of Minecraft. Let me me explain. In the age of COD, Minecraft was so popular because it was different. It was a breath of fresh air, and most of all, it allowed people to do as their heart desired. Destiny, although a different category of game (and not pixelated) lets people do as they wish as well. As a teenager, being able to do what I want is a SCORE. And, the concept and story of the game (that we have seen so far) has been out of this world (literally :D). So, I want to play Destiny for it's freedom, and of course the raw action. And, it's like no game anyone, anywhere, has ever seen before, with every situation unique, and no character exactly alike. Now, who wouldn't want to play this game?

The reason I want to play is because you guys make some of the best games like Halo :D and in the future my dream is to work with Bungie <3

The only reason I want to play Destiny is because it is awesome, there are endless possibilities awaiting my touch, Bungie has NEVER failed me in the past so I know I won't be disappointed.

Why I want to play Destiny I am looking for a game which over the course of the years stay true to its core fundamentals but keep adding areas to explore, addictive yet intelligent game play, and commitment to its fan base. For me Bungie has answered 2 of the 3 in the Halo series. Core Fundamentals: Each version of the game added new experiences while maintaining the core of the Chief. From throwing enemies off the ghost, to adding new enemies to fight. All in the battle to save earth because we were in the right place to be the hero. Addictive yet Intelligent: Here is the only place I am hoping Bungie makes the improvement as they had room for this from the Halo series. While the game play has always been addictive, it has lacked a level of intelligence. However, this was less a fault of Bungie but more so linear style play. I am hoping Destiny is less linear and has more choices. I already see this in having multiple character classes, I hope the it continues. The only thing I ask is don't making "Halo-Hopping" a strategic part of game play, solo, cooperative or competitive. Commitment to the Fan Base: I think Bungie is nailing this one running out of the gate. With Bungie-days, 10 year commitment to Destiny with no subscription are awesome displays of fan base loyalty. I am hoping, though, Bungie also remembers fans vary from 17 to 77 and include something for everyone. I have played many games, shooters, MMOs, RPGs, RTS, just about everything in my 46 years, I do believe, like Blizzard, Bungie can dominate the area in game play for the next decade. This is why I am wanting to play Destiny.

I want to play Destiny to uncover mysteries greater than the legendary lost Soffish.

My friend and I have had a lack of games to play and we have alwase needed something to do together. I mean halo 3 custom games is great but we have both wanted an open world rpg to play in and destiny will provide everything and more. Thank you.

1 ReplyI won't go on talking about how much I liked your halo series (though I really do) I'm gonna talk bout destiny. See, right now, I have no good games to play, halo 4 kind of got messed up when 343 shifted all the vehicles around, so my option are go back to an older game, or keep searching for as much info as I can on a new game. Well, destiny fit the bill, it's a sci fi fps, however, what I like about this one is that it takes place in our solar system. See I love astronomy and playing through unique, habitable planets in out system sounds awesome. I want to find a small group of people and form a squad, where we work together to fight the enemy, have a team that will always be there for me. I also hope for a fun multiplayer in multiple places on all the planets and moons, and hopefully a version of forge to make my own mini games. Out of everything I'm looking forward to so far, I think this is the best. I'm waiting for more leakage on the game, so please, release like an vague info booklet or something

I want to play Destiny because i have been playing halo since I was a wee lad. The moment I heard that bungie was going to stop being the Halo developer it devastated me. I did not think they would be able to create another magnificent game. But it looks like they have outdone themselves again. I want to play Destiny because I want to feel the experience of truly being apart of them game. I want to walk into a war zone known as a public event and fight with random people from around the globe. I want to win rewards for conquering a difficult boss. I want to explore the vast wasteland that used to be known as our galaxy. I want to figure out the mystical powers that the traveler grants us. I want to fulfill my in game destiny.

Im going to make this as simple as possible because I could go on for hours talking about why I want to play Destiny. But the main reason is because I have had Bungie in almost my entire life. I grew up with HaloCE on the PC and Xbox and then went to the Halo2 midnight release with my brother in 2004 and have been a huge and hooked fan since. When you guys left halo in 2011 I was disappointed, but I didn't leave you guys as a fan like a lot of people did. And when i heard you guys were making a new game I didn't listen to the reviews, i instantly knew i was going to purchase it because you were making it and i had and still have faith in you guys for making a great game like the ones you have blessed us with over the so many years. There are a lot of posts about this subject and I doubt you will pick me because there may be way more qualified then i am but just knowing that you might read this excites me. Thank you for everything bungie!!!!! PS You guys always find a way to top yourselves! :)

I want to play Destiny to fulfill a few destinies that I know must be fulfilled... First, I want to fulfill my own destiny of becoming legend. My body is ready. Second, I want to help fulfill Bungie's destiny of achieving total World Domination by buying a copy of Destiny. This is the primary way of funding this quest, of course. Third, I want to help fulfill the world's destiny of being able to play the kick ass games created by Bungie for millennia to come. Only my continued support through consumerism can enlighten the world to the (space) magic that the people here are creating.

screw the deadline, I want to play destiny simply because it is their.

Easy. I want to play Destiny to explore and travel the ginormous universe, challenge other players in pvp, make friends, work with other guardians as a team, beat the crap out of the enemies who dare to threaten us, collect loot, gain respect, and become a legend. plus, the game is made by Bungie, the greatest ever game developer in the entire world.

To be finding the long lost location of Soffish.

This game has massive potential, and I simply cannot wait to play it when it comes together. I mean seriously, with all of the dynamic elements, skill trees (for weapons), online-ness, and so much more ect. I am definitely going to be following the creation of this up to its release next year.

I want to play a shared world shooter.
-
I want to play Destiny because I think this game will lead us to the future... and beyond... I guess!?

Edited by LaBrigade: 7/8/2013 5:35:56 PMI remember settling down and replaying Sony's conference as I missed it the day before. The conference wasn't bad, you know, pretty cool stuff did happen. That moment when Bungie came on stage though...I couldn't believe it because the long partnership with MS and I was thinking "yeah, nothing interesting is gonna happen, just an announcement about some partnership, meh". I remember just sitting there and the guys on stage announced that they want to show off their project. As soon as the Intro started, I knew this was the ****! When the guys on stage started playing I really started to pay attention to every detail...I mean the massive towers which fell down (dynamic world) I just loved it! Every single thing in that demo. Even when the lights were activated and it illuminated the whole area inside the dam or whatever it was. I felt like the gameplay was really engaging. It sounds a bit cheesy, I know, but seriously...I'm a massive fan of post apocalyptic games (awesome face) and I automatically fell in love with this game. It had that certain feel to it..that feel of originality, challenge, exploration and that's what I love about games. Also when I heard it was a multiplayer game? I can't sum it up but with this picture: http://imgur.com/pSt8055 I can't wait to buy this game and play it, it will set the bar for other upcoming games..
