It gets a lot better as you get older, but some people take longer to grow up. As you get older the age difference of friends becomes less noticeable. High school and teenage years are weird and cringe. Side note, I have a younger sister and teenage girls are far worse to each other than teenage boys. Power through it, and you'll be a better person when that phase is over.
