Hard to swallow pills : you all refused to play the mode before and now expect yourselves to suddenly be great at it. On top of this you assumed match making meant you'd suddenly start winning even though you're bad at the game mode. Furthermore for God knows what reason you haven't learnt that lesson yet so you think freelance means you a bad player will suddenly start winning. No if you're bad you're bad and you need to practice to get better.
No trials isn't for the sweat Lords anymore, you can literally get all the rewards aside from adept weapons and mods while losing constantly. Bungie made fantastic changes you all just refuse to practice, refuse to take the blame for loses often blaming your team of randoms or accusing the enemies of cheating or no lifing.
Most of all a lot of you actively refuse to use any form of lfg as well as never using fire team voice chat during games effectively shooting yourself in the foot from the get go, and then you're shocked you lose more than you win.
This season bungie is not to blame, sweats are not to blame, streamers and content creators are not to blame, YOU are to blame.
Edit : I want to throw this in here because I did not expect even 1 reply let alone the hundreds it's getting and I have no intention of replying back aside from this edit. Soooooo many of you are quick to get triggered and miss understand the tone of the post.
(Shout out to the large amount of people that have left positive comments I see you <3)
Anyways the clarification is this; there is nothing wrong with being bad we all sucked when we started and that's a fact, the problem is the majority actively refuse to put any time at all into practice in order to improve and instead immediately rush here to complain. Not 1 single time did I ever say opening up to solo and duo players was bad for trials idk why you people think the "1t W4s DyiNg B3fOrE s0loS gOt L3t iN" is a valid argument here given that's not in the slightest the thing I'm addressing. Yes it was dying, yes I'm happy with the population increase, but your attitudes are gonna just kill it again.
And finally arguably most importantly something I left out of the original post cos it was already longer than I wanted it to be; match making exists in trials purely as a form of practicing, introducing you to the game mode, and warming up before joining a team that is all. Is it possible to solo a ton of wins? Yes. Will the average player be able to do so? No. Can you solo flawless? Yes. Should the average player expect a solo flawless? No.
Ayo I final thing why so many replies being like "bro the changes were good" yeah my dude I straight up said in the post the changes bungie made are fantastic lmao we agreeing

2 RepliesYou can tell what players arent pvp players. I hate loading in to a match and seeing how clueless my teammates are, knowing if i die we already lost. I hope it is because they are new and dont know how quick you really need to think yet. But damn it is frustrating carrying teams over and over.

2 RepliesEdited by OurWildebeest: 9/27/2021 1:13:51 PMAs a bad PvP player who is probably about 8-50 in Trials this weekend, including many 5-0 curb stomps, I think you have a good point, actually. I would like to see W/L or KD be a factor in matchmaking. But I also think it's fair enough for good players/teams to benefit from being good. So I don't think it should be the only factor. Maybe it can be the second factor - first, find a pool of other players/teams with X number of wins on the ticket, then, if possible, try to matchmake based on skill or success. I will never go flawless (won't pay for it and won't prowl LFG to beg for a carry) and I am OK with that. I don't want to be the reason somebody I have some sort of relationship with (eg clanmate) doesn't get flawless. I'd only accept a carry if somebody was ok with me possibly making them lose, so, I don't ask. Many of us really do not like talking on headphones with strangers and would rather lose a lot. I am glad they are at least allowing us access now. I would rather spend 10 hours without a headset than 2 hours with a headset, unless those 2 hours were with actual friends, or the coolest most generous people imaginable. The only exception is if I start doing raids again. I understand the need for headsets in raids, and I'm good enough at PvE to not need a big-time carry there. Trials is sort of like Iron Banner now, where determination can get you most of what you want even if skill level is lacking. I've done plenty of LFG in the past. Nothing against my teammates then, but it's just a game that I fit in between real-life stuff. I want to play a quick match or three when I have time and not have to deal with anybody's stress levels or annoying habits. I do not have any real-life friends who play Destiny. Used to, but they've moved on to other activities if they still game at all. Congrats to those who are really good at Destiny PvP. I don't care enough to "git gud" and may not be capable of it (I am 50 years old). I want to play the game my way, when and how I want. Thanks to Bungie for enabling that to some extent.

The hardest part to swallow is that survival is the pvp endgame, if such a thing is a thing, trials is where no matchmaking is used so sweats and frankly, hackers can farm hives and sleep with a big smile on knowing they are the gods of the low lives and their teammates and mics don't actually exist

2 RepliesI can't believe someone is making a post about how trials has anything to do with skill. People wouldn't be winning and the mode would be just like it was before if it weren't for the people YOU are blaming. You can't have it both ways. Without those people doing that Trials would be back to what it was before.

Edited by Excretious: 9/27/2021 2:49:43 PMMy buddies and I went in there and because I was with them, they (we) were getting matched against PC players. It was so embarrassingly bad. At one point, the MM must've felt bad for us cause we got matched into a 3v2 card and STILL LOST. Thought the game was gonna put us up against 3 servitors next

I am not sure trying to "blame" anyone is either very productive or helping solve problems in general, maybe actual analysis of feedback and seeing what the valid points are from them can actually lead to improvements and solutions.

I seriously don’t understand why people are setting such high expectations for playing solo. It’s an end game pvp activity where communication is crucial if you expect to get anywhere. There are the occasional people that have solo queued to flawless but from what I’ve seen it’s a very small amount. It’s also easy to see that a lot of people here are under the impression that if they’re losing, then something is wrong with the game. And if they’re winning…then bam, trials has been fixed. I’ve spent a lot of time actually trying to get better at PvP and I can say it’s definitely worked. And not once did I seriously complain about getting dominated by another player or team. If you decide to run into a competitive playlist solo, don’t set your bar super high, this should be obvious.

Most logical and coherent post about Trials in the past month.

1 ReplyI think the best way to solve it is to have both a team and Solo queue like Comp is but not to have a flawless goal in the solo queue at least that way those who just want to play solo and not bother with flawless can avoid the teams but at least there is still the choice to enter the Team queue as solo if you really think you can go flawless
-
Bungie can’t create true competition, lesser skilled players in this game are just pvp farming methods. Hence the direction of the story where the darkness just wants the strong to survive
-
I agree with most of that.

Well stated

I went flawless this weekend solo, I’m average at pvp. It was awesome why did they remove half of the weapons.
