Moon Weapons Should Stay.

Should Stay

527

Should NOT stay

116

Myself and a few clanmates were talking the other night. We realized the moon weapons such as “Every Waking Moment” are not being vaulted but are still getting sunsetted. We feel these weapons should be allowed to come forward, the moon weapons never had their chance to shine. Best part is you can farm this weapons relatively easily with the lectern, so there’s already a great system in place for earning these weapons. Anyway, hope this gets past along. Thank you! Edit: Thanks for all of the feedback! Everyone has some good stuff to say here. 😎

  • Same for the dreaming city and tangled shore, we aren’t losing those destinations so it would be logical to update the weapon power caps for those destinations to keep players returning.

    • You can continue to farm and use them. Just not in end game content.

this infusion era retiring thing has killed any drive for me to get back into destiny. everything feels disposable & less drive to grind to obtain anything. its like renting a car, but its a fixer upper you gotta put work into yet don't get to keep in the end. u get your gun or armor, then still got to infuse it/master work it for a few seasons till its finally at it max potential, then soon after its finally there....Retired. D1 system worked because you got your weapon at its max potential. item level was tied to activities, harder content higher reward, so it also served as a trophy. even tho it was obsolete when a new raid came out, at least you didn't have to spend tons of mats infusing or master working it to keep it relevant. sunsetting makes Zero sense in infusion era destiny, "retiring" guns feels artificial, it should either go back to D1 style IL system. OR keep the weapons and come up with other ways to make new guns relevant like, putting seasonal mod slots on new guns that old ones can't get, promoting old pinnacle to exotic, and creating new guns just as good as old ones so theres no power creep just more options at top tier. I mainly wanted to come back to destiny because of the gun play & I love using my fav guns in my collection. without that I see less reason to play. and I see even less point in grinding for disposable items, instead of grinding for god rolls, infusing & master working my favorite things, id just use whatever drops because it doesn't matter in the long run

Its bungo. They will update them on occasion and give us "fresh cohntent" to work towards. Emphasis on the Work instead of play.

      • In my opinion. All content staying in the game going forward needs to be raised up, and everything being Vaulted get 1060 treatment. The things going forward into year 4, which are still obtainable, should be capped at 1360 because otherwise no one will play that content. People will complete Pit Of Heresy and get a Masterworked 1060 armour piece and question why they even bothered as the gear the just earned is 200 light lower than their current Season 12 cap. Complete Pit every week for 7 Enhancement Cores. That's how it will be. Meaning it'll get dropped and never touched, just like Shattered Throne. Bungie are making the very limited amount of content we will have left completely pointless before we have even started Year 4. This is how you heard your players into doing exactly what you want them to do.

          • And considering Shadowkeep is still a PAID dlc. Imagine new players buying Shadowkeep in Y4 just to get a bunch of sunset trash weapons. That alone is enough to bring those weapons forward.

          • I agree 100%. Due to meta and lack of options I didn't get to properly test them and alot of them with current changes can have some play. As much as I love my Not Forgotten and Mountaintop pinnacles should be the only stuff sunsetted not weapons and loot unrelated to them. Pinnacles should be changed to exotics with proper reworks to not devalue player investment but kept in check for a healthy ecosystem. Pinnacles are what lead to this so deal with weed not the whole garden.

          • It's so absolutely stupid they're sunsetting weapons you have to actually pay to get access to. All of Forsaken's gear beside's the exotic's and temporarily the raid gear are all being sunset, same with Shadowkeep, WHAT'S THE POINT IN BUYING THE DLC'S IF THE ONLY THING USEFUL YOU GET OUT OF IT AT THAT POINT IS THE EXOTIC'S?

            • It’s pretty bad that true dlc weapons are going to be useless already. What if a newer player wants to play Shadowkeep? “Welp should have been there”. That seems so lazy. There not even game breaking either.

                  • I think the long and short of it is that sun setting everything in the game ensures that anyone who wants to continue to play the game MUST purchase the new expansion. So they get paid. Easy money. Take away everything we’ve already paid for and replace it with the same items 🤔

                  • In fact I think the moon weapons would be awesome to keep. However I am also in favor to making ornaments for them all that give them the polished look without the hive magic.

                  • From playing other online games, they shouldn’t with the model Bungie is going with now. Not saying I agree with it but the new expansion initial loot should be the relevant chase in the first season. The new gear should be relevant till the next expansion the year after while you pick and choose a new piece here and there as you go. That being said, they’ll have to knock it out of the park right from the get go.

                  • They never really got to shine, only useful weapons were GL and Sniper, they definitely should give them another season.

They’re technically staying but I get what you mean. It would be nice to keep them relevant for a little while longer. I used the AR and MG extensively (though not exclusively). They filled some holes in my loadouts quite nicely. The look was always hit or miss for me though. The whole voodoo ropes and feathers thing never really was my vibe.

                    • FlameVenom you make some valid points and I agree that ever verse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

                      • All of the weapons from non-vaulted content should not get sunsetted.

                        • All things should stay. Sunsetting should be removed. It's a waste of code and file size.
