This isn't me looking for a team, I know that'd be the wrong place to post. Just whining I guess and seeing if anyone feels the same. Just wondering how you all automatically kwtd and had 50 raids completed your first time?... Or at least why I am expected to be a time traveler and be able to have 50 raids of experience and kwtd before I've actually even done one. Or better yet when trying to find a fire team they already know every weapon I'm allowed to use to be worthy of their team. Like you can't all be a**holes, right? Or can you. Is it just me? Anybody else? I've been looking for a beginner raid team for my wife and I for about a year. And so far it's just led me to believe raids are exclusively for a**holes who get aroused thinking about how great themselves are. Be better people gaurdians, you're ruining the game by pushing people away.

d2 raids are extremely unwelcoming compared to d1. I dont even bother anymore

Why isn't your clan helping out?

Know what to do mostly means "watch a guide before joining"

Artful_5 on Twitch. He teaches people how to do raids. Don't know if he's doing it right now or just leveling himself up, but he taught me GoS. I prepared for it by looking up what weapons are good for each encounter as well as the mechanics. Now I'm in a clan and I raid frequently. Artful and the clan made me happy to raid again. Now I look forward to each weekly raid.

Occasionally in the Fireteams Tab people will do raids titled with 'willing to teach'. You can create a new raid fireteam and in its description for whichever raid your trying to play include 'first time, willing to learn' or something like that, there are people out there who can help you out. I have only done 1 raid, and that was a Leviathan raid. I might try for another one to get some more of Calus's loot, eventually. Raids are like a strike with mini games and puzzles, and seems to be basically a glorified raid with unique loot. Watch some youtube of people doing or cheesing raids, its a good way to 'kwtd'. This is just my thoughts as a first time raider.

Lol git gud, no carries, I wanna do shit quick so I can play other games.

1 ReplyRaids seem to be the home for excessive compulsives, with a side of narcissistic sociopathy. Freeform gaming, not here. A regimented, specific set of actions and gear and an ample amount of time required. Not for everyone, me included. Raiders and Trials players have my respect for the sheer amount of time and energy required, even though social skills are not part of the loadout.

Have you ever just tried joining one anyways? Most people don’t have the guts to kick you if you’re already in it
For the raids that had already been released before I got into the game, I joined groups that were explicitly for teaching. They aren’t that hard to find. The last two raids I learned day one as my group stumbled through it, beat them the next day, taught them on my next two characters, then taught them some more for fun because people really wanted the jackets. You tend to accumulate completions pretty quickly like that.
Or at least why I am expected to be a time traveler and be able to have 50 raids of experience and kwtd before I've actually even done one.
The people making those posts want quick runs. They aren’t “expecting” you to have anything, because they want experienced people to join. There’s plenty of groups that are either willing to teach or are teaching people already in their group.
Or better yet when trying to find a fire team they already know every weapon I'm allowed to use to be worthy of their team. Like you can't all be a**holes, right? Or can you.
They know what weapons you should use because they know what works and what doesn’t. Constantly wiping because you don’t have enough firepower to kill things or damage the boss gets annoying, even in Sherpa groups. In Last Wish, you can’t cheese the boss if you don’t have the right weapons. That means you’d have to do the encounter normally (which the vast majority never do) or come back when you’ve adequately prepared. When you’re learning a raid, you have some obligation to prepare for it. Otherwise, it’s like asking someone to teach you how to ride a bike without a bicycle.
Is it just me? Anybody else? I've been looking for a beginner raid team for my wife and I for about a year.
Then it’s definitely just you. The guy that leads the clan I’m in is practically always running 5 new people through a raid. Last I checked, he had somewhere around 200 clears on Last Wish, and some 120-odd clears on Garden, and I’d wager at least 95% of them were teaching runs. Even though I know the raid, I’ll still try to find teaching groups or groups looking for a teacher, because they tend to be more laid back.
And so far it's just led me to believe raids are exclusively for a**holes who get aroused thinking about how great themselves are.
While I am the pinnacle of man, I don’t have my ego vested in games. As for everyone else, it sounds a lot like you’re projecting. If you’re really having this much trouble raiding, maybe the problem isn’t other people.
Be better people gaurdians, you're rurning the game by pushing people away.
Spell better, Garuda.

2 RepliesEdited by TheArnoldArmy: 6/29/2020 4:27:52 PMThanks again for the discussion all. I can see I may have mildly upset a few people. Anybody ever get a pm after you have a bad match of some kind and someone you never met is telling you to go play something else or something like that? These are the people that I'm talking about. We all know them. My 2 year old has better manners than most people I've tried playing with. And he punches me in the face when I don't give him the right juice. Wait is that it? Does the destiny community need a nap and some juice? Anyways whether you feel me, or hate what I said, thanks for reading and replying, no matter your response I appreciate you thinking about it. I don't wanna start any fights.

Mate, I feel for you. A few of us have been looking for the same for a while, but like you say most people have been pretty much a**holes! I think you just have to keep trying to set up your own and hope you run into some decent folks.
-
Create your own group :) Just say looking to learn. Might take a bit, but people will join.
-
Look up a guide. The KWTD tag is different from "Have x clears." If you want to go in blind, you'll have a harder time finding people and that's on you.
-
If on xbox come join my small clan.. Happy to take new people through raids! Use what ya like too, we give tips on what's best but if people don't have it makes no odds to us.

This post is all about blaming everyone else for you not being able to figure out how to get a raid team together. It's hilarious that you ask the obviously sarcastic question about having 50 clears the first time someone did a raid. Is it easier to find a raid team when raids first come out, yes. Is it impossible to find or make a group months or years after a raid comes out, absolutely not. Spend the time getting good weapons and watch a video or 2 about the raid and make a group. If you don't succeed after 5 minutes of trying, try not to blame the world for your shortcomings. Could Bungie do a better job making it easier to find groups, yes, but you're not blaming Bungie, you're blaming "assноles". How about you do better?

2 RepliesLFG is very hit or miss. Most people just want a quick completion so they set the bar really high and sometimes don’t even have the requested clears in a raid they are asking for. I like teaching raid and dungeons but teachers are very few and far between, lets be honest no one wants to spend 6 hours dying constantly in a raid only to not actually finish the encounter or raid. Unfortunately as things progress and the raids are out longer the fewer Sherpa groups you are going to find, if a post says KWTD but doesn’t have a clear requirement which I have made a few times I have no issues teaching 1 person a raid as long as they catch on to the mechanics relatively quickly. There are plenty of scumbags on LFG and I still don’t entirely trust it but you will find a group for many things there.
-
This is why you gotta join a clan, trying to find groups is a toxic mess. I tried it once and I never bothered with it again, I had a terrible experience with some really toxic players and I wasn’t even the problem.
-
Some people are willing to help. I teach raids and dungeons on Xbox now and then! Look for a Sherpa who does it for the fun of it and not cash, they do exist (you are on PlayStation or I would offer my help).
-
Sadly it is the state of raiding ive done levithan 4 times.....scrouge ....1 and thats it. My clan dont want to do it anymore but there are some people that will help....
-
You clearly haven't been looking hard enough.... nor have you tried to make your own post, it seems.
-
If only there was a way to create your own team with your own requirements 🤔
-
Watch some video guides and then tell everyone you know what to do. Or make your own group. There are tons of players in the same spot you are. Be the change you want to see.

1 ReplyEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 6/29/2020 7:17:36 AMIts hard to blame people asking for KWTD. Not everyone has the time to do 3-8 hour raids trying to teach a team of noobs. Some people dont have the temperament or patience to be a teacher, and you dont want to learn from these people anyways. The people that want KWTD, usually only have 1 or 2 hours to do the raid or might want to do multiple clears in one night. Once you KWTD, these teams can be extremely efficient. But just like all in the real world, there are nice people and mean people, patient people and people that want things done the first try.

2 RepliesConsole raiding is dead no one on console ask for 50+ lmao
