I personally love Titanfall 2 with all my heart. But as far as a game to just sit down and wreck house on without too much effort, DOOM is the game you want.
Dont get me wrong I wreck on Titanfall, but to just sit back and feel like a total badass its DOOM
I prefer doom 2016 slightly more that eternal, but I still love them. Titan fall 2 has an amazing story and probably my favorite level in all of gaming, but it’s much more of a pvp game and it takes forever to get into a match for me. It has a super short campaign.
In terms of pve, If you want a story, Titan fall. if you want a -blam!- load of weapon options and abilities to -blam!- around with go for doom eternal. If you want a bit of a simpler game that still has depth to it, doom 2016.
Why... why must you make me choose ;-;
Titanfall 2 as my fav PvP shooter
Doom 2016/Eternal as my fav PvE shooter
Doom 2016 is very... single player based and simplistic. It starts out kind of slow but the story eventually picks up pace. It’s a very good mindless shooter. The PvP is okay, but your opinion will likely differ from mine. I personally liked the PvP, but you may say otherwise.
The big defining feature tho is definitely Snapmap, and it’s one of the best features of 2016. You can play community maps that are just fun as all hell. There’s even CoD zombies ported over. If you’re gonna get Eternal or 2016, 2016 has more replayability cuz of Snapmap.
Moving onto Eternal, it’s VERY different. For one, it’s not much of a mindless shooter. You’ll need to use each part of your arsenal to the fullest, and you’ll need to think too. It’s much more strategic and less simplistic. The enemies do feel much better to kill though, and its challenge level is very nice. As for PvP, it’s fun for a few matches but I couldn’t play it for very long. And that’s it for Eternal. No snapmap, which is big sad. But I feel the combat loop is much better in Eternal... though I can’t help but miss the simpler system in 2016, y’know, the system that says “Shoot it until it’s dead”.
Titanfall 2 has a huge learning curve, and you’ll need to learn the game if you wanna have a lot of fun. It’s fast-paced like 2016 and Eternal, but amp that fast-paced action to 10 and you get Titanfall. The gameplay loop changes from Pilot to Titan, and you get two different styles of shooting, one that’s less strategic and more about moving fast, while the other involves strategy and taking it slow. The blend of Pilot and Titan gameplay really makes each individual game feel fresh. The PvP and campaign are very good, and there’s a horde defense mode that’s nice as well.
If you want an intense campaign with comedically extreme amounts of violence while still being a good story, Doom: Eternal.
Otherwise, TF2 has the better multiplayer, and a campaign that was actually phenomenal.
Doom 2016 was good, but just not quite on the same tier as the other two campaign wise, but it has a more traditional PvP mode along with its own brand of forge mode so I guess if your more of the creative type Doom 2016
So I guess the short version is, Doom Eternal for the brutal campaign, TF2 for the great campaign plus multiplayer, and doom 2016 if you like making game modes.
