This whole year has been a disappointing rehash of old content, useless gear, broken promises, and nerfs. Now you're going to expire all my old gear too? I'm out. I'm not grinding for old stuff. I can't even play PVP anymore the lag is so bad with no player base anymore. Directors cut makes it clear to me that Luke is fiddling while Destiny burns. Shame, the game was fun.

5 RepliesEdited by xilxad: 3/7/2020 5:58:22 PMI quit too and i’m done with bungie. Never seen a game dev so focused, so determined to take everything cool out of their game. I quit a little while ago and its great, i feel like i quit my second job. Now i got lots of time to actually enjoy playing different games.

Edited by Uriel Draigo: 3/10/2020 6:33:43 PMThey should make it so that Masterwork Legendaries never expire.

what really kills me isn't that Luke wants to take our cool toys away. What kills me is that his post shows a lack of understanding of what design space even means. And that he talks about how power creep devalues content, and then goes right on to say he wants to make new, crazy powerful legendaries! Which is it, Luke? Do you want us to be powerful? Or do you want us to be less powerful, but think that taking away Izanagi's will confuse us? Do you think we don't have spreadsheets of this stuff?

18 RepliesEdited by roadrage424: 3/7/2020 5:13:28 PMD3 is supposed to come out Sept 2021.... I'm not really sure why they would cap gear in that short amount of time. Seems pretty senseless to me. .... I for sure will not buy D3. This is as far as I go w BungLe. The micromanagement of this company sucks the life out of the game. The nerfs are one thing and expected (not to this degree tho!!). But forcing players to use new weapons is just stupid. If you are one who says, "the game will die if they dont make this change," .... well maybe for YOU it will die. For me, I like playing the content with the weapons i have farmed.

Cool good to see you go.

Jade rabbit & erentil. Have my upvote.

Yeah, how many people grinded all their exotics for armor 2.0? The same people will grind to replace retired weapons.

25 RepliesEdited by Tru-Zrue: 3/7/2020 8:36:03 PMThe whole game is experimentation and you guys are the beta testers....who pay to test. Look at how much they change the game. Feels like there's no real ONE direction...it's a bunch of different "I wonder how this would work" test directions that lead nowhere. Still waiting for bungie to prove me wrong. Edit: I'm not trash talking. I just miss playing. Game has changed too much tho.

They should put a expiration tag on guns that shows a timer

Oof, my "Nobody cares" collection is exploding by "I'm out" posts. I think a need to make an own category for that in my "I'm upset about everything" archive.

20 RepliesEdited by mikeyrox1234: 3/9/2020 8:23:51 AMIm not a fan of weapon retirement at all due to the fact that its 100% pointless unless they: - Give new perks - REMOVE DAMAGE INCREASING PERKS - Buff lesser used perks - Allow perk synergies Example: Ambitious Assassin and Autoloading Holster on a rocket would be great - Allow perk and subclass synergies outside of exotics If nothing I listed above, or at least point 1,2, and 3, are done then they are making us use different looking weapons. People will still farm for the Reload/Damage weapon rolls. The weapon system needs a complete overhaul and if they are trying to do a “overhaul lite” then weapon retirement is actually necessary to get the old weapon rolls out. But at this point Im good with it as long as they do not touch exotics. Leave my Sweet Business ALONE! This spoiler shows a post/comment I made a while back and pretty much sums up what I would like.
This is what Im for: - Vanguard and Crucible weapons should always be available, no retiring them - Raid weapons should be WAY more unique and powerful (Think Wrath of the Machine weapons) in their respective raid and out of it BUT these are the weapons that get retired - Damage increasing Perks GONE - Weaker/lesser used perks buffed up - Perks synergize with eachother Example: Rocket with Ambitious Assassins and Auto loading would be great if these to perks worked with eachother - Perks that synergize with our Subclass Where D2 currently is, and I HATE to admit this, weapon retiring is needed due to the fact that Bungie has changed their mind on so many things. What I mentioned above is basically a complete rework of our weapons and would be moot if our current weapons would remain. Again I hate the idea of weapon retirement, to an extent, but its needed now to hopefully bring us into a better ago. Now if these “new” weapons are going to have the same perks as in: - Damage Increasing Perks - Weaker/ Lesser Used perks Then retiring weapons is 100% pointless and literally only making us use weapons that LOOK different but have the same perks... which means we will go after the same perks we have now but just on a different gun. The problem is the perks... not the guns. Then we have toxic AF streamers such as Datto and Lono that criticizes and make fun of people that want to use the same weapons because they actually like using the same weapons. Guess what... people like the idea of using the same weapon. The issue right now is that the perks on those weapons are too strong. Personally I would be 100% fine with weapon retirement if Bungie could reliably make weapons that look good to me but this is a me issue. If retired weapon model would be ornaments I would be fine with it but that will never happen.
2 RepliesI wouldn't care, but you KNOW they will just resell it all back to us. I see it as a lazy move rather than a real fix to any of our problems. Watch. 1 year after the weapons retire, they will be back in the next big expansion... And they will try to say they are 'brand new weapons!!!'

26 RepliesEdited by MapleBae: 3/7/2020 10:05:56 PMYeah, if weapon retirement goes live I probably won't play anymore. Makes the brutal RNG and hundreds of grind hours seem in vain. Especially after Bungie said they would never pull something like the Tower fall again. Now they are going to do it every year. Instead of fixing the root of the problem with busted weapon archetypes and absurd aim assist, they are punishing the entire community over PvP sweats. Eververse ornaments on legendaries are useless now. Masterwork kills counts are useless. Hundreds of hours of grinding were pointless. Now we are going to have fake, engineered metas where Bungie forces us to use whatever they want us to. So much for "play your way". The only compromise I may accept is if pinnacle/ritual weapons are left alone. Rest in peace my precious Hazard of the Cast. Rendered usless because Bungie made a hand canon and a shotgun with broken stats.

4 RepliesI'm about to just walk away. Someone, somewhere is defending everything Bungie does and I hope this is the game for them.

2 RepliesI want them to enact something to deal with the weapons pool and if that means leaving old ones behind so what .

1 ReplyDo they not learn anything? See D1.
