Game so far, please no salty scrubbing

I think overall the opening part was nice visually and I am gamer who likes to take time and explore and do missions in a no hurry fashion. I have really enjoyed the game thru the years but have been very frustrated with sandbox changes and the end of last celebration. I like to grind but there are limits. We are all nostalgic for D1, what a game but this one has a bit of the past and reminds us of how cool the moon was. I like the fact that enemies are higher level and should be a challenge and not a push over. We should be thinking of loadouts etc which people do. I really appreciate the high end gamers want to hurry thru every thing and get stuck into the raid etc. The balance of nightfall is good, matchmaking for the lower end and no for the higher. Choice for everyone. Some of us are PVE and some are PVP, balance is good. I think this launch is only a taste of whats to come and we shouldnt hurry into oh its not worth it mode. Let it pan out first and settle. I could have laid a bet that launch day would have issues, its a massive game with huge capacity of players. It will bed in over the next week. Destiny for me is all about enjoying the open world nature and playing solo or in a team. Its choice. I am first to moan on here and criticise this and that but i want to give it a chance to bed in.. Replies most welcome, keep them sweet not salt haha

    • The campaign alone is like 6 minutes stretch out so far that you can complete it in an hour. This is sad. If people think this is a good story I'm not going to bother and talk to them or change their opinion. But man, I feel bad for this game and all the hardcore fans.

If you havent see it yet, it's the Last Word mission with a Boss at the end. That is not NEW, just like 90% of shadowkeep.

    • Whats the point asking for peoples opinions on the game if you only want them to be positive? That's such a ridiculous thing to say, you're as bad as those "journalists" on garbage websites like TheVerge that block/ban anyone that says anything even remotely "not nice" You should never try to influence or control peoples opinions, let them have their opinion as it is ffs.

      • Not enough to do. Few new weapons and armour. Too many nerfs. Old content shouldn’t be irrelevant they should have had new gear and and increased power level. I like the old raids but now what’s the point in them. If you love bounties Shadowkeep is the dlc for you, if not don’t bother wasting your money.

        The story left me wanting more. After that final cutscene ended and my screen went black I just said to my friend who was experiencing the same thing, “that’s it?”

      • PvP is decent. PvE... beyond milestones strikes are even more useless than before, story was decent, moon lore is nice, I now have 0 motivation to do raids, and the pass is a tad ridiculous with required EXP. Gambit is still a joke. Overall while they did something right with moon activities. The game still heavily suffers from poor incentive and loot diversity.

      • Not sure but I feel like I’m just redoing what I already spent the last 2 years doing? Just trying to regrind the same armor 2.0 that I already have.. except I don’t have any mods unlocked that I already had on my 1.0 set? Hmmm

        • The game cinematics are great. The artwork is good. The campaing is okay. The best mission was the last mission. The first problem is the campaign was too short. I did not even know that the campaign was over when I was finished with the last mission. I thought there was more and was disappointed. The second problem is that I was expecting to fight the ghosts. I see ghosts everywhere and they do not attack. They just float onward and onward. I thought we were suppose to put a stop to the haunted moon. Instead we are still fighting the Fallen, Hive, Cabbal, and Vex. I am fine with the nightmares of the Fallen, Cabbal, and so on. I just thought there would be another alien or entity that we would have to face in the hype that the moon was haunted. Bungie could have made the fallen Gaurdians as the main protagonist, since they are essentially nightmares themselves. The third and final problem is that the moon seems to be just re-skinned. Yes, it is nice to have the moon back. It seems that it is mostly back for nostalgia, with some minor upgrades. I know that there are going to be something more to it, well at least hope there is going to be something more to this DLC. If I had to rate it, I would give it a 5/10. That is being kind and un-salty.

          Good post. I like Shadowkeep a lot, but it doesn't give me that thrill like Rise of Iron did. There's just too much that's more of the same. Take the roaming band of pikes on the moon now. Zzzzzzzzzzzz......I've pretty much seen enough of those guys. The ghosts are pretty cool, but they don't do anything. This game needs something fresh, like dark guardians. Wouldn't it be cool the face evil guardians with the same light powers? They would make great bosses.

            I’m primarily a PvP shooter player who likes open world exploring in games, ala GTA. I’m not a big RPG fan. I’m the person that played COD and didn’t touch the campaign. Thus, making armor super complicated isn’t really my thing. More grind isn’t my idea of fun. So right now i’m playing it free to play. Solo PvP is a vast improvement and is 3v3. Oh i game primarily solo so I appreciate the solo comp playlist. Not a big fan of one new map in years, twilight gap was never my fav cause it’s super shotgun heavy which isn’t really my favorite. Widows Court is good cause it’s open. Haven’t. Played to other actually new map enough to have an opinion but first impression was it felt narrow but we will see. No pinnacles sucks. I get it but if I’d probably not do it if I already had the all the weapons. Dislike the majority of nerfs. They should have refreshed vendors long ago and should have already done it multiple times like in d1. For now I’m gonna see how the free to play game goes. We’ll see if I get into the armor thing but right now I’m pretty much deleting it all cause I’d rather not deal with inventory management. I heard on the ign podcast that they had a convo with luke smith a while back has he said his goal was secretly to make destiny an rpg. Not surprised. I’ve thought that was what they have been pushing. That said it’s not my thing and for my type of gaming it’s a bit of a nightmare scenario. But we will see. I will say as a side note I do plan to buy MW and would be surprised if it becomes my pvp game of choice. I really enjoyed the beta. And I think losing people like me to MW is a real concern because I’m a shooter player and it was COD’s falloff that got me to destiny in the first place. Time will tell.

            I'm enjoying it....and Bungie has done a very good job at transitioning this game to playing more like an RPG. I think the usually Negative Nancies...and the people who just want the game to play as a simple shooter...are not going to be happy. But everyone else? We've been really given something to sink our teeth into. Because the game has been retuned such that your build and loadout choices MATTER...and if you make bad choices....it will be reflected in how the game plays. I rolled into Gambit last night...and was a bit confused at first as to why I kept dying to adds. Despite the fact that I was like Power level 905. Problem? I made bad decisions in choosing the stats on my armor. I had been so busy trying to max out the stats that controlled the recharge rates on my abilities...that I FORGOT to pay attention to resilience. I had rolled into Gambit (unwittingly) with a high-mobility/low resilience set up. ...and I was getting my ass kicked because of it. Once I figured out the problem and went with a more balanced build? Back to business as usual. (Except for the part where I got stuck in Gambit prime wtih three PC noobs, and had to bank 61 of my teams 100 motes. The "Half-Banked" medal and the god-rolled Outlast PR (Outlaw/Rampage) was a nice consolation prize, though.)

            • It's all subjective. You say that the balance of nightfall is good. I say that Bungie is, once again, tying good gear to something that I have no desire to play. I hate Crucible and it's required to get certain gear. Bungie is forcing PvP onto PvE players and accuses them of being evil casuals if they protest. That's not choice. Story driven campaigns cost way more to produce than small map PvP. Reusing a map is even cheaper and so we return to The Moon where we find, big surprise, used bad guys. I'll bet that Bungie spent more money on their promo videos than they did on the actual content of Shallowkreep. One positive is that my guardian actually spoke! Made me drop my controller and my bag of chips.

            • A lot of the rebalancing feels bang on to me. Strike/Nightfall/Nightmare bosses dont evaporate immediately any more, but they can still be killed pretty fast nonetheless.

Infusion system is still needing tweaks though 1000 per gun is amazing now if it’s the same tool. 390 pulses still dominate crucible with hand cannons. 340 pulses still don’t have the messenger feel from D1...... Supers feel better to shut down and eye mask....... every Titan is wearing it.

              • Everything fine. But...exactly the same. It's looks like bigger content drop but with Annual Pass feeling. No real changes, no development. Same gameplay, same hord mode. And I bet Vex Invasions will be the same EP, but with another 4 guns and armor set. All this loud words about "more RPG", but Destiny still a session shooter with one more decoration (beatiful, for sure!). It's good if you just can't stop playing Destiny and all you need is another doze of same guns and armor, but where is revolution? I mean, look at Warframe. They add frames and locations, yes. But at the same time they add something absolutly new to the game mechanics. Guitar hero mini-game with a simple emote? Done. All emotes in Eververs now looks like waste of money.=) And space ships and new bosses and story connected through all this years. So Shadowkeep is nice, but it's still stagnation. No new ides here.

                • What's the point of SK? Haven't bought anything since Forsaken. I just play all the stuff that's free for now. EP is still a thing, if you like a >900 Warmind armor and the weapons. The new "expansion" adds nothing that's worth 35€.

                  • I'm enjoying it, but can't help feeling they've just reskinned the moon, and stuck some hovering dead bodies, that actually don't do anything? Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying playing, but some new enemy genres would of been better

                    • I knew we were going back to the moon. I didnt expect 80% of it to be recycled content from previous games and expansions. I play casually and finished the campaign within a few hours of play on two seperate days. I rode my sparrow thru the moon map shaking my head. They literally reskined the d1 map....sad.

                      • Eh, it’s ok... confused why the change to infusion, but it’s Bungie, I’m sure it has something to do with milking us for more time. The not “pinnacle weapon” quests seem to be going waaaaaayyyy too slow in progress. The Vow, cannot get above 1% and I have played several strikes (not a pinnacle weapon). Played several matches in Crucible for the new scout... 3%. That’s just plain stupid, Lunas was so much easier. Not sure what’s going on, but I hope it’s a mistake.
