3 RepliesPick stuff up. Thumbs are so important, they're the only body part I know of that involves elective amputation. Since a hand without a thumb is effectively useless, surgeons will sometimes chop off a toe and attach it in the thumb's place. Don't know how well it works, but undoubtedly better than nothing.
