I have to play Comp for the best PvE weapons!?!?

I came back to the game recently, and everyone was talking about Monuntaintop and Recluse as the best PvE guns. I looked them up and what-the-heck I gotta play Competitive PvP to get them. It's just not reasonable. Strike guns only require strike kills and medals, gambit guns only require gun kills and medals and PvP weapons require you to rank up in the toughest playlist. Revoker requires a few kills and Competitive points, but not a rank. So why not the same with the other two? Why do I have to grind out the most sweaty playlist just to get the pinacle guns while I can just go in casually into strikes and gambit and get their respective pinnacle guns by just playing. Not even gonna talk about the first part of Mountaintop, it's getting nerfed. But I've tried going for it and it's impossible to get triple kills for the multikill part. It always seems like if an exotic (or pinncale) PvP quest or quest step just gets rampped up to 1000 compared to it's PvE counterpart. EDIT: I've finished all the PvE and Gambit pinnacle weapons. And compared to the 2 I've made this rant about, they don't stand a chance. -Oxygen: No comment, it's just THAT bad -Loaded Question: Actually pretty good, not a fan of it being Arc damage -Wendigo: How is it supposed to be good in a Spike Grenade meta? -Breakneck: Actually pretty good and fun, autos are not good in general right now -Hush: Does one thing, does it well, but only really good against weak targets -Delirium: Fun to use, the worst of the machine guns My solution is a change to the quest. Just flat out change the comp requirement to what it is for Revoker. I can play comp all month long, but as long as I'm going in solo, I just can't make it in this team oriented meta. Also, make the Gambit and PvE guns better. EDIT 2: Revoker quest is fair. Requires you to simply play the game and learn to use the weapon type.

 • How many times am I going to see this post? Quests will ALWAYS be easier than anything tied to RNG. You have a set task and when it is completed you are 100% guaranteed the weapon with a static roll. Not one hint of RNG involved. The task may be long and/or hard but it is something you can work towards. When you finish it is rewarding because you had a foreseeable goal and grinded towards it. PvE literally all of this goes out the window when it comes to the PvP meta weapons. 100% RNG, no task to work towards, doesn’t feel rewarding, and you waste a bonechilling amount of time farming for a gun without even getting a drop much less even a good or god roll. Let me tell you a story. You want to know how long it took me to get the curated twilight oath which is objectively the best pvp sniper? 11 months. I did the dreaming city milestones and missions almost every single week on all my characters. Squeezed out as many drop chances per week as I could possibly manage and it still took me a YEAR before I got it this week as the NEXT YEARLY EXPANSION is right around the corner. That is the worst of mine but it also took me probably 20-30 hours of farming the hollowed lair before I got the mindbenders on my titan which isn’t even that special. I have melted my brain away in countless 2-6 hour reckoning farm sessions and the best spare rations I have is an 8/10 at best. I had done 30 last wish runs and cheesed the chest a handful of times before I got a snapshot supremacy. It took me a month and a half to grind to 5500 last season for not forgotten. That is a quest done right. It is a long and hard task with a lot of grind and commitment required but there is an end goal. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you and your team improve and you win more, you get the gun sooner. And when you do it is extremely rewarding, seeing all that time and effort pay off with excitement of the gun in your hands. When I got curated twilight oath it didn’t feel rewarding. I wasn’t too overly excited or happy to finally have the gun I wanted. The emotion I felt above all? Relief. Never needing to do a god forsaken blind well or ascendant challenge or story mission just to get a tigerspite ever again. Something is wrong when players are more relieved to not have to play a certain part of the game anymore than excited about getting a gun they wanted. That is what happens when you are dealing with RNG. Like I said, quests will always be better.
