So I've been an active Destiny player since beta Destiny1. So today my son wanted to start from D1 and work his way up. Seeing his excitement when he awoken the hive on D1 and got ambushed lmao. Just reliving what I did a couple years ago and seeing do it is awesome. As inspiration I showed him my 750 character with outbreak prime, recluse and Wendigo o. D2. Told him he has a long road ahead of him. Good luck space cowboy.
Update: Thanks for the mostly positive responses besides the super weird one lol

3 RepliesLovely story. This is much better than giving your children additional tutoring to help them in later life 👌

I let my then 5 year old daughter do sparrow racing for me back in D1. I honestly don't even remember what I was grinding for but it required zero success whatsoever, just lots and lots of races played. She was absolutely terrible at it but she thoroughly enjoyed crashing into everything.

3 RepliesHitting destiny with your kid is honestly one of the best things until they troll you by showing you that gun or emote you’ve been after that they now have

My boys played my alts in D1, but in D2, everyone has they’re own set up. We have a great time. With the help of a few patient guardians / clan members, they’ve even finished a few raids (no 1k for us though). And not just as passengers either. They have learnt and know the mechanics (with a few prompts every now and then). When we play Gambit, They love harassing the invader, and invading themselves (they usually argue over it, because that’s what brothers do right?). I LFGed a group one time. Lost the first game and someone left (the organiser lol). The other 2 were quite chill, so I grabbed the youngest and he joined up. They were a little skeptical when he wanted to invade, but away he went. We win, with my son getting 18 invasion kills. He backs it up with 12, then 14. He’s a little more strategic in the next 2 games, not getting as many kills, but denying the motes at the right time. We sign off after that, with my son being called “Bad Ass”. He was so proud of himself. He runs to tell his mum, but has to stop because he knows not to swear lol. Plenty of great time ahead for you and your son I’m sure. Enjoy it while it lasts. 👍🏻

I don't have a lot of gaming time but regardless I've spent a lot of that time with a 2.5 year old who loves Destiny's world. We spend hours in the Tower kicking balls making the Big Traveler one appear, looking for kitty cat, playing soccer to ignite fireworks, visiting the farm to see the chickens and the owl and counting butterflies. Her favorite thing are the ships though, she can watch them come and go for hours lol. Bungie's game are truly inviting and beautiful. I get why she says "I wanna go there". :D

I've been a dad for 32 years but alas she has never played Destiny with. She did give me a grandson that does. That's just as good, don't ya think?

I think I enjoyed D1 more but I also think D2 is the better game at this point. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

3 RepliesI got my son into my clan. We play quite a lot together, he's 13. I don't pvp against him any more since he kept jump sniping me. He does pvp stuff for me though and I do pve stuff for him now and again.

2 RepliesTried to make a new character, but no one was playing strikes so I couldn’t do quest step. :/

I played Destiny with a couple of former bus passengers. Best I can do, since I have done the world a huge favor and largely ensured that my genes die with me.

Tell him that he cant play with you until he gets Gjallarhorn.... Lol

2 RepliesMe having a kid full-time would be a disaster, but I wish I could just rent or borrow one to do awesome stuff like this.

2 RepliesLucky, my dad hates video games. He a sports guy, which I do play sports and I’m pretty good at them but I still like video games more. He just yells at me to get my a$$ of the PlayStation.

5 RepliesI gave my son my D1 account and deleted my titan and hunter. He tried both but became a Titan he rocked the titan and came to D2 and created his own account. What made year 1 bearable for me was grinding and farming with my 8 yr old Titan. Farming public events doing speed runs on strikes, farming nightfalls, escalation protocol. Watching his little ass in PVP ambush people him hiding behind doorways (he has this maniacal laugh when he kills someone). I haven't been able to get into year 2 at all maybe its because I miss playing with my boy. (His mom broke his xbox and replaced it with a ps4) either way I can relate to the pride. The fun factor when playing together is off the hook

3 RepliesMy kids were crazy about d1. D2 is just a no no for them. They only play on my account in d2 when they are extremely bored or have time to kill. Other than that it's just boring for them. Honestly, when kids say this game is rubbish there must be something wrong with the game as I can't imagine them having as much salt as me.

Good job for not teach your children to play fortnite
