So enhancement cores.........

While I have a decent amount I've watch dozens of players stop playing this game due to the infusion system. To the people who play enough for this not to be an issue, if your blind enough to not realize how big of a problem this is then you are in a rather low tier of intelligence. Basically if you dont think this is a problem then you don't play with a group. The casual and players who want to get back into the game are the ones who don't like and get screwed over by this infusion system. I have nothing to say to anyone who has hundreds of cores like me and doesn't see the long term problem this system creates for the longevity of the game in its current state. How about a compromise and limit the max infusion cost to 1 enhancement chore....

        • Yeah the enhancement core system this time around has finally gotten to me. I don't mind grinding to 700, but half the fun is infusing gear either into something new that drops or something I have been sitting on that has a great setup. Granted once you hit 700 it is not a big deal, but half the fun of leveling is infusing my fav pieces of gear along the way.

IMO it’s just wrong to practically force players into mixing Tangled Web armor with Dreaming City armor(hypothetically speaking) for the lack of cores.

        • I’m a “hardcore” player, I just can’t stomach this broken system anymore, RNG does not favour me. Bungie announced that they aren’t going to make changes, so I stopped playing weeks ago.

        • Day 1 Destiny 1 player.....and 5000+ hours in the franchise. Read my lips: ENHANCEMENT CORES ARE A GAME-BREAKING PROBLEM. This is not a "hardcore" vs average vs casual problem. The decision to make them part of the infusion economy was a terrible game design decision....and I've been screaming that exactly what you're describing would happen since late September. But the Investment Team refuses to listen. They are a game breaking problem because: 1. They are not in enough supply to allow average players to level up comfortably with any sort of control over what gear they play. So you basically get loot from the game that you can't use...because the game denies you the resources to do so. 2. They muddle the economy. They aren't in enough supply to support Infusion...and because of that NO ONE uses them to actually Masterwork. So the active masterworking of gear is basically just no longer part of the game. If you aren't using them for infusion....you're basically stockpiling them for the next bump in the level cap. 3. It suppresses build variety. Since the cores are so difficult to obtain....it basically forces everyone into running the same small number of builds with the same small number of pinnacle weapons. Which basically renders about 90% of an already shallow loot table irrelevant. Including most of the game's exotics. 4. Related to point 1....it breaks the reward loop that is foundational to any successful loot-based RPG: Kill stuff....get loot....use that to kill more powerful enemies...get more powerful loot. It breaks the reward loop because it short-circuits your ability to use....and keep...the loot that you get. So the game stops beign a game where we chase loot. ..and it becomes a game where we just mindlessly grind for item level. Which no one finds fun. Which is why you dont' find ANYONE defending this system on its merits. NO ONE is saying that this game is more enjoyable with this system than it was without it. You either have people who hate it...like us. Or people who either claim its not a problem for them (which means that it failed its primary design purpose) .....or that (falsely) taking it out will damage the game. Will make the game "casual" or allow people to "level up too fast". TLDR: This is one of the worst game design decisions I've seen in 20 years of playing loot games.....and Bungie's stubborn insistence on defending it is one of a succession of catastrophic brand management decisions with this game.

            • This reminds me of the whole "vault space debate". People wanted more vault space but tons of people tried everything in their power to stop that from happening. Even when it wouldn't hurt their gameplay in the slightest. REMOVING CORES WILL MAKE THE GAME MORE FUN WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND

Infusion shouldn't be free in my opinion. But I think reducing the amount of infusion cores required to level up from 2 or 3 to just 1 would make it a more enjoyable grind.

                • And yet, there are still enough idiots on here who wont get it and keep on defending this broken system. I have over a hundred cores, but I'm too scared to use them, thanks to the stupid expensive masterwork steps that come on top of infusing. Also, it's not even worth doing, as the next season will increase the level cap once again....

                    • Let me put it in simple terms for those who lack the will to understand me. 1. I am not saying use only the gear given to you. 2. Cores aren't even being looked at in the right view. 3. I am saying to use the mitch match gear as a booster not a long term item. 4. The understanding of why cores are used is misunderstood and everyone here complaining don't understand the big part of Destiny's MMO aspect. To break it down further if all you used cores for was masterworking guns and armors. You all would complain that they have little to no use. Once you do get your setup complete what use are they? In the end until you can come to the concept of how END game works in games in MMOs you will never be able to come to terms with what Destiny is. If you all would stop looking at it as just some FPS you would understand it's much more complicated than that. Furthermore if you assume that I ever meant to use whatever crap gear look that's given to you then you assumed that yourself and are to blame for your own outrage. Someone one asked why I act like an ass, it's because of the responses I get on a daily note when you assume I said something that isn't even in the text. The fact I even talk about how to get cores and how I have so many so imply that I would have gear I want to use not some trash heap badlanders or some useless better devils. The last statement I have for you is that you all like to assume you know what I am saying to look righteous in the looks of others which I pity. Now excuse me I got comp grind to do for my recluis.

                        • I don’t have issues with having enough cores but they are still a huge problem. They should not be used for infusion. They should be used for what their name states, masterwork/enhancement. It already takes way too many to masterwork a single weapon let alone multiple weapons and armor. Remove them from infusion and cut the cores required to masterwork a weapon in half. Also instead of master working armor with cores, we use them to enhance perks on armor. So if you have handcannon reloader on a pair of gauntlets you can enhance that perk. The catch being only a single perk on armor can be enhanced without any undoing it. Any perk and all perks could be enhanced. Stop being stubborn with this bungie. It makes zero sense that after all of this time it’s still a part of infusing. If you’re actually listening to our feedback then act on it. Either remove them or tell us you’re not going to so we can move on.

                        • Cores are broken. The rate you acquire them is not sufficient enough compared to the rate at which you spend them. End of discussion. Either remove them or fix the rate you acquire them. This being broken for this long is really a disgrace. I’m embarrassed. I like bungie but it’s truly embarrassing.

                        • If bounties gave you 5 cores instead of 1, it would be fine. It's just too much work for not enough reward. I just described all of D2.

                        • plenty of players simply have no understanding of economy and how to use what they have. Its really not that hard to not upgrade things until you are max power and then only use the cores on things you will actually use. PVP power doesn't matter except for iron banner. Power matters marginally in pve for the new content and thats really it. everything else is lower than the current max by 50 or even 100 power levels. You can wear anything and still be doing the same damage as being max power. you don't need to upgrade everything as you get it.
