You want the truth? Yes of course i know we love the rocket launher but the truth when it comes to PVP balance? Well many of us do not like the truth but here is comes...
A hunter sub class has led the way in average KDA every week since D2 launched except for a six week window where Voidwalkers took the top spot. My source is the guardian.gg class stats. I just took the Sunday stats for each week because I didn't want to spend the time to average out every day of the week. A breakdown of the week by week dominance of crucible by Hunters is shown below.

YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Edited by EzE_408: 2/4/2019 3:41:11 PMThese stats that you posted, are worthless, and here is exactly why. It’s a fact, that Hunter requires the most skill. It’s why it’s predominantly used in higher end PvP and by better PvP players in general (who already have higher k/d’s). The majority of “bad” players, cling to classes with the most one hit kill abilities (shoulder charge and handheld supernova) as well as the highest possibly super kills in a single use that do not require skill to use. The averages you posted, need to include the aggregate K/Ds of those actually using the classes. TLDR; bad players choose classes with 1 hit kill abilities because they need them (Titan & Warlock). It’s like having “Dead Man’s Hand” in COD sorta, but better. The more skilled players, use Hunter, because it requires more skill to use. That is why these numbers are skewed.
-
Hahaha you had me at hunters take skill to use. Gr8 b8 m8, I R8 8/8
-
Lmao right ? I stopped after best for highend gaming or whatever the -blam!- that means.
-
Prove me wrong.
-
I don't need to prove you wrong. You stated it's a fact and have nothing to back it up. So the ball is clearly in your court. You need to back up your so called facts or be branded a fool.
-
I didn’t post the stats. I offered a plausible explanation outside of OP and others on here. And I repeatedly stated that the facts from OP mean nothing until the data for skill level is posted. That’s what I said was a fact. That the OP means nothing, until the skill level question is dealt with.

In the above quote you clearly stated it's a fact that hunters require the most skill but when challenged all you can say is prove me wrong. Personally I think hunters are the most user friendly class in PVP but I'm not saying it's a fact because I don't know if that's why a lot use them. There's clearly a reason hunters are the most used class in PVP and I don't think it's because they require more skill.
-
Actually, until the nerf, Voidwalkers were the most used class from November 28, 2018 to nerf (I didn’t go back further than that), but the graph stated as such.
-
From the start of D1 to now overall hunters are the most used class. From time to time the other classes have periods where they used more, warlocks with nova warp, titans with hammers. Look at your D2 crucible emblem and the most killed will be hunters, that's simply because they're the most used. That however doesn't mean they require more skill and it certainly doesn't mean it's a 'fact'.
-
I am telling you, using Guardian.gg, that the most used subclass, from Forsaken until they got nerfed, was voidwalker. Look for yourself. https://guardian.gg/2/class-stats?platform=console&mode=5&start=2018-11-28&end=2019-12-28 Sort by popularity.
-
Again I never said it wasn't, I gave the uses for the whole of Destiny not just a portion of it, yes while NW was great warlocks were on top, I already said that, in D1 titans were the main when hammers came out. But before and after the hunters reclaim the spot for most used class. It's not hard to see that more people have mained hunters in crucible then the other classes over Destiny's life span. Still dont see proof of this fact about hunters requiring more skill though.
-
B.S. most skill to use lol. That goes against human nature. People will take the easiest path and not the hardest given the choice. That’s why shotguns pulse/hand cannon and hunters and blade barrage are a common load out. And there is nothing wrong with that at all. People want to win and they want to do using the path of least resistance.
-
For the most part I would agree with exactly that... However, my buddies and I more often play crucible with non-meta loadouts to have a bit more fun. It always fun to produce a 4.0+ K/DA. Eventually, you sort of feel bored and that you are unhealthy for the casual player base and you search for something more. So, you nerf yourself to the point where every kill is a laughable victory. A self-made challenge can be just as enjoyable as the path of least resistance.
-
Ever want a challenge make the HUD invisible(remove HUD in settings) and try running some quickplay. Intense but awesome.
-
Edited by EzE_408: 2/4/2019 7:52:55 PMProve it. And I agree. Having one hit/kill abilities you can spam make for the easiest path, for bad players.
-
I can’t exactly prove it. But understand this. There is one class with a OHK system in place, with a cool down, always on if you were a exotic. But this is a shooter. There are many OHK shotguns and sniper rifles in the game. If you are honest with yourself. You most often are killed by a shotgun. There is a good chance the guardian holding the shotgun is a hunter simply bekuz of the shear number of hunters in the game. You might get shoulder shoved two times in a match. But that hunter wearing a shotgun contributes most often to a death than any OHK ability. In fact the very reason that shotgun is up ones ass at any moment is bekuz the hunter is so much more nimble than warlocks or titans. They commit the crime and get away with it more often. Simply go invisible or dodge and commit another murder run away or panic and clear out the horde. It’s great the hunter class has so many advantages in PVP. I not one who thinks the game should be 100% balanced at all times.
-
Yet Voidwalker was the most used class until the nerf came. https://guardian.gg/2/class-stats?platform=console&mode=5&start=2018-11-28&end=2019-12-28 Sort by popularity.
-
We were talking about success in pvp not popularity. Is it really lost on you that the hunters have been the highest kd class since the beginning of the game and only dethroned for a few weeks by something that hunters then complained about and got nerfed.
-
You think too highly of yourself. Fact is, Hunters are the most used because they are the easiest to run... requires the most skill? Are you mad? They have so many gimmicks it’s sad. Hunters are clearly the default class, if you can’t play, run a Hunter. That is all.
-
Hunters take skill? Funny joke kid.
-
Let me fix this for you. Hunters = playing a familiar FPS shooter. Best mobility and responsiveness by far. Overall the most balanced class for dealing out DPS via primaries or supers. Everything they have synergies well.
-
Hunters require skill?? LOL shadestep , run, hide and re engage is skil? Double jump for easy shotgun ohk is skill? Boy you are on some good weed
-
And blink doesn’t exist or Titan skating isn’t a thing? Says the guy who doesn’t even have a leveled Hunter.... All you are doing is trying to move away from my point. This whole post is irrelevant if the skill statistic is not addressed. There are hundreds of games where certain classes reward more technical skill. Bad players won’t gravitate to those classes because they are harder to play, require more time investment, and/or don’t have easy abilities to profit from. Every MMO or class based game has them. It’s not conjecture, it’s fact. I am willing to bet, that more skilled players, on average, play Hunter. So, of course, it’s going to look like this... Regardless, until we have THOSE stats, this post is 100% irrelevant.

Kiddo, i played hunter before forsaken and in d1 so don't even go there.
