The Gambling Commission study suggests that 450,000 children aged 11 to 16 bet regularly, more than those who have taken drugs, smoked or drunk alcohol.

The commission also raised concerns that close to a million young people had been exposed to gambling through "loot boxes" in video games or on smartphone apps.
These can involve a player paying money for an item that is only revealed after purchasing
Australia, Denmark and Belgium have all defined loot boxes as gambling and it seems the UK may be joining suit.

-blam!- yes! Hopefully America will hope on this bandwagon. Okay tiger, no politics...no politics... oh screw it. Oh who the -blam!- am I kidding? They’re more worried with Trump and his 400 days of golf instead of being the president.

Lootboxes were always pretty exciting. But I do want to see them go. If I'm going to pay to get something, I'd rather pay a bit more to actually get the thing -_-.

2 RepliesThis post is using surveys (as reliable as those are). They also are omitting pointing out the obvious. The largest% of those is taking bets with friends. Of course kids will go "I bet you can't do that!". This survey counts that as gambling. So, basically this post is full of it.

2 RepliesOr....ya know.....be a responsible parent and keep ur credit cards safe and take away their systems if they steal ur cards......

The sooner paid for loot boxes disappear the better. Random chance can't be eliminated in all games. Part of the fun of borderlands and borderlands 2 was beating the bosses over and over to see what loot would drop. Paying for random cosmetic crap- worst idea ever.

14 RepliesYou mean like the "claw" arcade game.. or a gumball machine.. damn I wanted that ring. Children have been exposed to gambling in many ways for many years.

Nothing says “this game is shit” more obviously than loot boxes.
